The former president posted a series of questions on social media around the terms of the deal, wondering whether the US was paying Russia cash.

“Just curious because we never make good deals, at anything, but especially hostage swaps,” he said. 

A total of 24 prisoners were exchanged in a deal between the Kremlin and the White House Thursday, including three Americans and eight people returning to Russia.
