🤔 Alzheimer’s “wonder drug” gets green light in UK

Lecanemab - hailed by some experts as “the beginning of the end” for the disease - has been found to slow cognitive decline by 27% in sufferers.

The British healthcare watchdog is expected to grant approval for the treatment of early Alzheimer’s on Thursday.

However, the European Medicines Agency has been far more cautious - rejecting a licence for the drug just last month due to potential side effects, including “swelling and potential bleedings in the brain,” that outweighed the impact it had on slowing the progression of Alzheimer’s disease.

The treatment was authorised by the US FDA last year.

✅ Hungary offers free one-way tickets to Brussels for migrants, asylum seekers (AP)

PM Viktor Orbán’s chief of staff, Gergely Gulyás, announced the offer Thursday in response to hefty fines recently imposed on Hungary over its restrictive asylum policies.

The European Court of Justice ordered Budapest to pay a fine of €200mn for “persistently breaking”the bloc’s asylum rules, with a daily additional fine of €1mn until policies are brought in line with EU law.

If the EU continues to force regulations on Hungary at any cost then we will offer every migrant “transport to Brussels free of charge,” Gulyás said.
