The USS Georgia is now in the US CENTCOM area of operation, defense of goals said - aiding to an already substantial array of military assets rushed to the region.

US Defense Sec Lloyd Austin had ordered the deployment of the guided missile submarine to the Middle East in August as the region braced for possible attacks.

There are now approximately 40,000 American servicemembers in the CENTCOM region.
