Netanyahu literally held up a map that erased Palestine completely on Sept. 22, 2023. The genocide didn’t start one year ago with Israel’s blockade of the Gaza Strip, when Palestinians were denied food, water, fuel and electricity. It didn’t start one year ago with Israel’s relentless bombardment that has dropped the equivalent of several nuclear bombs on over one million children in the world’s largest open-air prison.

The genocide has been ongoing for decades. The only difference is that Israel’s U.S. funded ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians has never been more blatant that it is today. And the response—or lack thereof—from the world over the last year has never been more telling.
