🇺🇳 Netanyahu reiterates calls for UNIFIL to leave Lebanon

The UN should remove its peacekeepers from their posts to “keep out of harm’s way,” the Israeli PM has warned.

“The charge that Israel deliberately attacked UNIFIL personnel is totally false,” he added.

Meanwhile, Beijing has said it will take ‘additional measures’ to strengthen the peacekeeping troops in Lebanon - strongly condemning Israeli attacks on the UN Interim Force. (Analodu)

How the Israel lobby got Hezbollah banned in Britain

"Labour’s Lord Glasman declared his interest as a member of LFI before disputing Polak’s position on Hezbollah.
Glasman told parliament Hezbollah had been on “a remarkable journey over the last 20 years: it has joined the political and democratic process; it is the largest single party in Lebanon and got 300,000 votes, which is 100,000 more than any other party; and it has played a key role in brokering a broad-based coalition government there.”
He added: “It has not been mentioned today, but Hezbollah played a significant role in restoring the synagogue in Beirut…I ask the House to reflect that maybe it would be foolish to block conversation and possible negotiation with Hezbollah.”

🔴Warning Shots Fired after DPRK Blows Up Roads Linking it to South Korea

Seoul has condemned Pyongyang after it destroyed roads linking the countries Tuesday, in another blow to bilateral ties on the increasingly tense peninsula.

The South’s joint chiefs of staff said its military had fired “retaliatory” warning shots near the border after the North blew up sections of road.

The North has laid fresh mines, erected anti-tank barriers and deployed missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads along the border this year.

🤔 IDF Soldiers Raise Israeli Flag in Labouneh, Southern Lebanon

The social media clip raises the question – is the “limited operation” really to allow Israeli citizens to return to their homes in the north or has it always been about creating a ‘Greater Israel’?

🥴 Kamala Harris’ ‘Smart on Crime’: A little too smart with the copy-paste?

Vice President Kamala Harris has joined an exclusive club – where plagiarism isn’t just an academic vice but a political tradition.

Conservative activist Christopher Rufo took to Twitter to make the allegation, backed by an investigation from Austrian "plagiarism hunter" Stefan Weber, revealing that Harris’ 2009 book ‘Smart on Crime’ may have borrowed a bit too much. Whole sections seem to mirror sources like an Associated Press article or a Wikipedia page.

Weber pointed out Harris’ other creative liberties, including fabricated references and word-for-word lifts without so much as a quotation mark.

But politicians, unlike journalists and academics, have a knack for surviving such scandals. After all, President Joe Biden managed to overcome his own plagiarism controversies from his law school days and his 1987 presidential run.

Perhaps the real takeaway here isn’t that Harris borrowed a few lines, but that in politics, a little creative borrowing is just par for the course—especially if you do it with confidence.

❌Israel ‘running out of Iron Dome ammunition’ - FT

The US is rapidly moving to plug gaps in Israel’s defenses, including by deploying a THAAD missile system.

“If Iran responds to an Israel attack and Hezbollah joins in too, Israel air defenses will be stretched,” Dana Stroul, a former senior US defence official, told the Financial Times.

“The US can’t continue supplying Ukraine and Israel at the same pace. We are reaching a tipping point.”
