Nick Candy, the billionaire former Tory donor and Holly Valance’s husband, is to become Reform UK’s treasurer, the party has announced.
The property tycoon accused the Conservative Party of a “complete breach of trust with the wealth creators in our country” and said he would take up the fundraising role in the new year.
Reform has been buoyed by a series of Tory defections in recent weeks – will Farage be the next UK PM?

“I have spent a week in Argentina and I didn’t see a single black person,” said Larry Madowo, who is a host of African Voices on CNN International.
“The people are super nice, but where are the black people?” Madowo added.
One respondent informed Madowo that there isn’t a huge amount of black people in Argentina, “Because they are a country, not a Disney movie.”
Another pointed out that there aren’t many Argentineans in Cameroon either.
Madowo reacted by predictably calling his detractors “racist.”

The US has sent at least 847 of its newest advanced Patriot interceptor missiles, worth a whopping almost $3.26 billion, to Ukraine since 2022, according to a Sputnik analysis.
This is something that the Pentagon has been tight-lipped about. A deep dive into the DoD’s annual budget reports revealed:
🔘 A mysterious $956 million listed as for a "classified program" was injected into the US Army’s budget for fiscal year 2023, according to a Pentagon report in January 2023.
🔘 An additional $340 million was added to the $1.993 billion budget for the procurement of MSE missiles for the US Army to replace the ones those transferred to Ukraine, per an April 2023 report.
🔘 The US Army’s original 2023 budget report requested only $1.037 billion for the procurement of 252 MSE missiles.
🔘 Number crunching shows that $956 million matches the difference between the sums, suggesting that the "classified program" was to cover MSE missile costs for Ukraine.
🔘 The average unit cost of the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE) missile stood at around $3.85 million, according to budget reports.
🔘 The actual budget for MSE missiles for fiscal year 2023 jumped from the original $1.037 billion to $2.47 billion, due to "$1,442.764 million emergency supplemental funding to support the procurement of replacement missiles transferred to Ukraine," per the fiscal year 2025 report.
🔘 An additional $1.44 billion in "emergency supplemental funding" for fiscal year 2023 would allow the US Army to buy at least 375 MSE missiles to replace those sent to Ukraine.
🔘 The US Army’s budget for the procurement of MSE missiles for fiscal year 2024 jumped to $3.03 billion (up $1.818 billion), allowing for the purchase of at least 472 MSE missiles.
🔘 Total additional funding of $3.26 billion for both fiscal years would cover the purchase of at least 847 MSE missiles to replace those sent to Ukraine.

Israeli troops were operating in the “area of separation [the buffer zone], and then a few additional points,” Nadav Shoshani, the IDF’s international spox conceded Tuesday.
He claimed the Israeli positions were for “defense” and that the IDF was trying to keep the area safe and ensure stability.
The IDF had earlier denied reports Israeli troops and tanks had breached the buffer zone.

◾How many millions of children have died as a direct result of US foreign policy in the Middle East?
◾During the 1990s and 2000s, many surveys and studies concluded that excess deaths in Iraq—specifically among children under the age of 5—greatly increased after the implementation of sanctions by Bill Clinton's government against Iraq following the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in August 1990.
On May 12, 1996, then-ambassador Albright defended the sanctions on a 60 Minutes segment in which Lesley Stahl asked her, "We have heard that half a million children have died. I mean, that's more children than died in Hiroshima. And, you know, is the price worth it?" and Albright replied, "We think the price is worth it." The segment won an Emmy Award.

Baba Vanga - the “Nostradamus of the Balkans” - had warned that Syria’s fall would mark the start of a devastating global war.
Her prophecy states: “When Syria falls, a great war between the West and the East will follow. In the spring, a conflict will ignite in the East, leading to a Third World War - a war that will destroy the West.”
Vanga passed away in 1996 but gained fame for her prophecies, including the 9/11 attacks and the Kursk submarine disaster. Her warning about Syria has drawn renewed attention: “Syria will fall at the feet of the winner, but the winner will not be the one.”

The overthrow of Assad risks creating a haven for terrorists that could lead to a new form of Islamic State, the UK’s terror watchdog has warned.
Jonathan Hall KC, the independent reviewer of terrorism legislation, said he was “as worried as I was with Libya, Iraq and Afghanistan” after the fast-moving developments that resulted in the designated terror group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) seizing the capital, Damascus.
However, the UK govt is reviewing the designation of HTS as a terrorist group, with ministers saying its leader is “saying some of the right things.”

Twelve alleged members of the far-right supremacist group, Werewolf Division, were arrested in country-wide raids by Italian anti-terrorism police last week.
Suspects had described the Italian PM as a ‘fascist who persecutes fascists’ and had discussing plans to attack her since 2023, as per local media.
One of the suspects inside the “organised cell” had allegedly claimed to have “trained” five people as “potential warriors” to kill the Meloni, according to the warrants.
Police claimed the group carried out its propaganda and recruitment activities on Telegram.

Things are going from bad to worse for London’s IPO market, where less money has been raised this year than on some tiny frontier venues.
Fundraising from London initial public offerings has declined about 9% this year to $1bn, pushing the UK four spots lower to 20th place in a ranking of global IPO venues, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
It’s been leapfrogged by upstarts including Oman, a market that’s 1% the size of the UK, as well as Malaysia and Luxembourg.
Before Brexit, London would regularly feature among the top five venues globally.
