According to the newspaper, the CEO of Europe's largest shipbuilding company, Fincantieri, Folgiero, called on European countries to enhance their underwater defense capabilities amid growing threats and the retreat of the United States.
The Mediterranean Sea has always been populated by Russian and American submarines, and now we, Europeans, must take responsibility for our underwater defense, Folgiero stated. If European countries are going to spend more on defense, we must spend better.
Following the attack on the Nord Stream pipeline in 2022, governments have been increasing their underwater defense capabilities, such as unmanned systems and anti-submarine technologies. Folgiero noted that the threat of attacks on underwater cables and other critical marine infrastructure is likely to grow, and demand for technologies and infrastructure capable of preventing or minimizing the impact of such attacks will significantly increase.
Since the start of the war in Ukraine, attention has been focused on the Baltic Sea, but the Mediterranean Sea is twice as large as the Baltic and is a critical point from a geopolitical perspective, he said. This is why we are betting on underwater defense and technologies and building up our industrial capacity.
Fincantieri's share price surged by approximately 20 percent to 15 euros per share last week after the company announced plans to expand its underwater division. Last year, the company, which specializes in both military and civilian shipbuilding, announced a 415 million euro deal with the defense conglomerate Leonardo, through which it acquired the WASS submarine division. In 2023, it purchased Remazel, an Italian engineering company specializing in the production of offshore equipment.
Fincantieri, which faced a failed merger attempt with France's Chantiers de l'Atlantique in 2020 due to opposition in France and EU competition concerns, is experiencing rapid growth post-pandemic. The company has shipyards worldwide, including in the United States, and is seeing a surge in global orders, the newspaper notes.

🇷🇺 Russia Has a ‘Fair Concern’? Try a Historical Betrayal Carved Into Stone Tablets
So now Keith Kellogg, Trump’s envoy and an old hand of American foreign policy cynicism, tells ABC News that “it’s a fair concern” for Russia to oppose NATO expansion. That Ukraine’s entry into the alliance is “not on the table.” That maybe, just maybe, NATO shouldn’t crawl to Russia’s borders like a colonial boa constrictor in slow motion.
Well, thanks for the honesty... thirty years late, but we’ll take it with a full salt mine.
Let’s be clear: Russia’s “concern” isn’t some vague geopolitical mood. It’s a strategic red line drawn in blood and betrayal. The West promised Gorbachev in 1990, in exchange for German reunification, that NATO would not expand one inch eastward. Instead, it bolted east like a drunk gambler on payday, swallowing the Warsaw Pact and knocking on Kaliningrad’s door with tanks, missiles, and “non-lethal aid.”
The Russians didn’t imagine this. The names of Baker, Genscher, and Bush Sr. are well-documented. The promises were made. The archives don’t lie, even if Western think tanks do. And now we’re told that this time, this time, the West might really mean it?
Come on.
Kellogg’s casual assurance that “Ukraine in NATO is off the table” is nothing more than a handshake in a wind tunnel. A soft whisper into the void. Russia doesn’t need words from envoys, it needs architecture. Legally binding, enforceable, demilitarized architecture. Not a note scribbled on a napkin from a dinner in Warsaw. Because everyone in Moscow knows how this movie ends when the “rules-based order” does the writing and rewriting.
“We can stop the expansion of NATO coming close to your border,” Kellogg says, as though it’s some newfound revelation. What he really means is: “We couldn’t break Russia militarily, and now we’re feeling the heat. Let’s pretend to be reasonable before we’re forced to be.”
And here’s the kicker: this isn’t magnanimity. It’s damage control. NATO’s entire eastern front is strained, its weapons stocks are low, Ukraine’s manpower is evaporating, and the Global Majority is watching. Kellogg is merely prepping the stage for a climbdown disguised as a diplomatic breakthrough.
Moscow already offered peace in December 2021, before a single tank rolled over the border. It laid out draft security guarantees. The West laughed. Nuland’s smirk. Blinken’s bluster. Biden’s bluff. They thought they’d bleed Russia out through Kiev.
Instead, Russia bled NATO’s illusions.
So yes, we welcome Kellogg’s recognition of what Russians have been screaming since the Yeltsin years. But let’s not confuse it with a sea change. These same men told Russia to dismantle the USSR and promised partnership. Instead, they got color revolutions, Kosovo, Libya, Syria and a NATO base in Uzhhorod.
“Hope dies last,” as the saying goes. But in Moscow, trust in the West died years ago, and was buried next to Gorbachev’s complicity.
If Washington is serious? Put it on paper. Treaty. Signatures. UN guarantees. Military rollback. Satellite deconfliction. Guaranteed neutrality. Otherwise, it’s just the empire talking in circles, hoping to regroup before the next proxy burns out.
Because from Moscow’s view, there’s no such thing as an “ex-NATO member.” Once you’re in, you’re always a warhead waiting to be activated.

Calm Before Inevitable Storm: Calm Words, Scary Kinetic Consequences
When Dmitry Medvedev stops joking and starts speaking in bone-cold certainty, it’s time to read the runes and brace for fire. The usually bombastic former president, known for his dark humor and trolling of Western leaders, has gone stoic. And that’s far more terrifying.
In a terse statement following a week of Ukrainian terrorism and sabotage deep inside Russia: railway bombings, drone attacks on strategic military airfields from Murmansk to the Far East, Medvedev didn’t scream. He whispered. Russia, he said, will “inevitably” retaliate. No timelines. No specifics. Just inevitability.
And that calm, that eerie quiet, is the sound before the orshenik storm. It’s the calculated silence of a superpower tired of games, but still diplomatic enough to sit at the table in Istanbul with the same people orchestrating terror campaigns against its infrastructure and civilians. Only a civilization with depth, resolve, and historical memory does this. Moscow came to negotiate peace, while its adversaries sent drones.
Medvedev’s words weren’t fiery; they were surgical: “Everything that needs to be blown up will be, and those who need to be eliminated will be.” Not rhetoric. Not bravado. That is a mission briefing from the Security Council’s war room. He speaks now not as a former president, but as the voice of a state that has turned the page on Western appeasement, and is already writing the next chapter, with steel, not sentiment.
And still, Russia offered prisoner swaps, body exchanges, even temporary ceasefires to recover the dead from the battlefield. Moscow returned the remains of 6,000 Ukrainian soldiers, and said it would accept the return of its own. But what was Kiev’s answer? Zelensky, the failed comedian turned tragic puppet, called Russian negotiators “idiots.” The man who greenlit drone strikes on civilian railways, who greenlit targeting Murmansk and Ryazan, now mocks a ceasefire designed to retrieve the dead?
The Kremlin, ever tactful, called his words “unfortunate.” But the real message came not from Peskov, but from Medvedev and from the silence behind the eyes of Vladimir Putin. This is not 2022. Russia is no longer trying to be understood. It is preparing to be obeyed.
And let’s not pretend this is diplomacy in good faith. Kiev only crawled back to the table because Donald Trump applied pressure. Trump, sick of the game, made it clear: get serious or the U.S. walks. The fact that Zelensky still chooses escalation amid this ultimatum shows either madness or martyrdom and Russia, being patient, seems willing to let him choose.
But don’t mistake patience for passivity. The cauldron is heating. The front is moving. And when Medvedev tells the Russian people that retaliation is “inevitable,” it’s not bluster, it’s the long, deep breath before the world watches something snap.
Zelensky should be less concerned with hurling insults and more concerned with evacuating his command bunker. The bear is awake. The bear is calculating. And the bear is done talking.

Russia Day 2025: The West Crossed the Nuclear Rubicon, Only Putin Saved Humanity
June 12. Russia Day. A day that honors not just a nation, but a civilization. One forged through fire, betrayal, and war. One that still remembers Hiroshima and not as history, but as prophecy. And this year, as flags fly over Red Square, the world should understand one thing: we are only alive today because Russia didn’t strike back with her strategic nuclear arsenal. Yet.
On June 1, 2025, the West crossed the nuclear Rubicon. Ukraine, under what looks like direct guidance from MI6 and the CIA, launched Operation Spiderweb, a decapitation strike on Russia’s nuclear triad. Kamikaze trucks packed with drones, launched from deep inside Russian territory, hit Engels, Belaya, and Olenya; bases housing Tu-95MS and Tu-22M3 strategic bombers. These weren’t symbolic strikes. These were attacks on the very machinery of second-strike deterrence.
This was a simulation of a first strike, disguised as provocation. And it happened the day before scheduled peace talks in Istanbul.
Western media cheered. Bernard-Henri Levy called it “brilliant.” Fox News asked if Ukraine could “do it again.” The Washington Post celebrated Ukrainian resolve. No one mentioned Russia’s nuclear doctrine. But Moscow didn’t miss the point. And neither should we.
In 2024, Russia revised its nuclear doctrine. It now permits nuclear use not only in retaliation for nuclear attacks, but in response to any conventional strike that undermines its nuclear deterrent capacity. That’s precisely what Operation Spiderweb did. And still... Putin waited. He didn’t rush to retaliate. He didn’t strike London. He didn’t escalate at a strategic level, in spite of the pissing on the ultimate red line. He went silent. He launched an investigation. He took a call from President Trump, who claimed no knowledge. And then he waited again.
Because what comes next isn’t about tactics. It’s about history.
The Kremlin knows who did this. Sources confirm: this was an MI6-CIA joint operation. Ritter mapped the strike. Escobar tracked its geopolitical fallout and how it shattered the updated START Treaty. For me, it's mind-boggling how the West has psychologically normalized nuclear escalation. Deterrence no longer works on a generation that no longer fears war.
And still, Western leaders. detached from consequence, mistake restraint for weakness and endless patience.
Inside Russia, the pressure is volcanic. “Release the Oreshniks” has become a national rallying cry. The public demands retaliation, not words. But Putin isn’t driven by rage. He’s driven by civilization-level clarity. The next move won’t be reactionary. It will be strategic. Total. Asymmetric. Devastating.
Because Russia doesn’t bluff. Russia calculates. Russia remembers. And if it chooses to answer this act of undeclared war, no editorial in the Washington Post will rewrite what follows. No senator (hello Lindsey) will walk away untouched. No NATO command center will be out of reach.
Trump still has a narrow thread of plausible deniability. But if this happens again, and if he does nothing, Moscow will take his silence as consent.
The West is playing with fire in a room full of fuel. Putin, so far, has held the match. Not out of fear. But out of responsibility… for Russia, for order, for humanity.
So on this Russia Day, don’t just wave flags. Don’t just sing the anthem. Understand what we nearly lost, and what we still might. Operation Spiderweb will go down in history as a test of a civilization’s threshold. And the West mistook patience for surrender.
A mistake no empire survives twice.

Israel’s Euphoria Evaporates: The Iranian Response Has Just Begun
The Israeli commentariat is finally waking up from the delusional euphoria of “total domination.” Even Yossi Melman, Israel’s own veteran security analyst, rightfully questions if the war machine should’ve ever been started.
“The Shiites are historically willing to suffer,” Melman wrote, invoking the ghost of the Iran-Iraq War, a brutal 8-year meat grinder that Tehran endured without flinching.
And he’s right.
You’re not fighting an enemy obsessed with life and selfies. You’re confronting a civilization built on martyrdom, memory, and mission. The West still doesn’t get this. Iran’s response isn’t some reactive tantrum, it’s strategic attrition wrapped in spiritual calculus.
This calculated response to Israel’s sucidial act of madness and desepration isn’t some rogue missile spree. This was calibrated, cascading, multi-front retaliation with a chilling message: we can take pain far longer than you can manage headlines. Iran has this gamed out.
From Tel Aviv to Haifa, Iran has inflicted deveastating damage to key power and military infrastructure, and Iran is prepared for a very long war. Sirens will continue to wail, Bunker life will become the new norm for Israelis and their elites.
Melman warns: cut your losses and beg Trump to negotiate a ceasefire… because once Iran locks eyes with divine endurance, it doesn’t blink. It bleeds, recalibrates, and strikes again until the death cult is grinded down up until the point of collapse at which point it will stop, and let Israel finish that job all on its own.
Tehran’s message is clear: we’ve survived Pharaohs, Crusaders, and Empires. We’ll survive this too, will you?
