I analyzed the top 10 sites ranking for “slot” in Indonesia and one pattern kept repeating.
👉 Every single one was a repurposed domain with US-only English traffic
Not UK. Not AU. Just US.
Different brands. Different site structures. Different link profiles.
But this one thing was common across all 10.
This isn’t theory. I’ve tested a lot of high-risk expired domains myself and burned money on the wrong ones — which is why this pattern stood out when I saw it repeat so cleanly.
This is also why I personally prioritise expired domains with clean US-only English traffic when targeting competitive casino keywords.
Does this mean non-US traffic domains don’t work?
No — otherwise there’d be zero competition for them in auctions.
But in my experience, US-only English traffic repurposes more cleanly, especially for slot / casino terms in Asian markets.
You can apply this same check in any GEO:

Traffic
Domains with existing traffic usually perform much better than completely dead ones, especially if they’re already indexed. What matters is current traffic and keywords showing in Ahrefs or Semrush, not just historical data. US traffic is generally an added plus.
Domain history
Domains that previously belonged to a legitimate brand or local business tend to repurpose more cleanly. A real search presence helps a lot, and having had a Google My Business profile is a big plus. Local businesses like restaurants usually work better than generic content blogs. (A lot of Indonesian casino SEOs prefer these.)
Links
Strong links still matter, but links alone aren’t enough. Manual backlink checks are important. I usually look for clean follow links from real sites. DR 40+ links are solid, and anything 70+ is top tier. Even lower-DR domains can work well if the links are clean and relevant.
Finding domains that meet all three isn’t easy, and they often sell for higher prices in auctions, but that’s usually where the best long-term results come from. For example, itworldcanada.com sold for around $100k on GoDaddy Auctions a few months ago and was later repurposed for online casino Canada.

It has now been ranking consistently for 3+ months with around 400K+ traffic.
