The FSB detained a correspondent from the Hokkaido Shimbun newspaper in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk on suspicion of espionage. The suspect was arrested before departure and transferred to Moscow.
According to investigators, acting on orders from Japanese intelligence, the journalist collected data on mobilized residents and SVO volunteers from the Kuril Islands. He tasked locals with gathering restricted information intended for Japanese special services.
A criminal case has been opened under Article 276 of the Russian Criminal Code (Espionage).

Russian strike with ballistic missiles on Kiev. Again, without warning from our partners. The main target was the energy sector, specifically TPP-4. Unfortunately, there were hits.
