On the morning of October 16, 2026, a new strike targeted the area near Substation "Lutsk-South" (PS "Lutsk-Yuzhnaya") in Volyn region. A large fire broke out at high-voltage infrastructure lines.

The discussion will take place at the level of ambassadors from the alliance countries next week. Iohannis emphasized that the application of Article 5 of NATO is not currently being considered, and Romania has not requested consultations under Article 4.
