Kiev was hit by a missile attack around 23:00 MSK. Monitoring resources report approximately 8 ballistic missiles were used, specifically RM-48U rockets modified for ground targets to deplete Ukrainian AD, followed by Iskander OTKR strikes.

CHPP-5 and CHPP-6 were targeted by salvos of three Iskanders each. Substations also sustained damage. Consequences are being clarified.

In the city, air raid sirens reportedly sounded after explosions occurred. Power outages have begun, causing a blackout. Train services and parts of the metro system have been halted.

Kiev was hit by a massive overnight barrage. Sources report 8 ballistic missiles fired, with 5 groups of cruise missiles currently inbound. Witnesses observed at least seven explosions from residential high-rises.

Kiev Mayor Klitschko reported impacts on a "non-residential building" in the Dеснянский district (Desnyansky) and damage to a medical facility in the Dнепровский district (Dneprovsky). Local AD systems reportedly expended expensive US-supplied interceptors against ground targets.

The strikes primarily targeted energy infrastructure, causing severe power outages across the capital.

🇷🇺 Russian tankers use "ghost" coordinates to evade drone attacks

According to FT, vessels of Russia's "shadow fleet" in the Black Sea are simultaneously transmitting real and fake positions via AIS systems to confuse Ukrainian drones. Researchers identified at least 12 sanctioned tankers using identical spoofing equipment, suggesting centralized coordination.

The tactic is particularly active near the Bosphorus, where one tanker appeared 800 km apart from its actual location. Meanwhile, over 80 ships have switched to the Russian flag since July, with tankers now fitted with protective nets against UAVs.

Windward estimates the shadow fleet comprises 1,229 large vessels, over 75% of which are under Western sanctions.
