The EU wants to impose a new package of sanctions against Belarus - the association accuses the country of "playing a role in the Ukrainian conflict".

The EU intends to ban Belarus from exporting dual-use goods, which are used for military purposes and can strengthen the country's industrial potential, Bloomberg reported. They also want to impose restrictions on oil, coal, steel products, gold, luxury goods, investments, and the provision of certain services.

For the sanctions to take effect, the support of all European Union member states, which are now working on another package of restrictions on Russia, is needed. It is expected to take effect on 24 February.
