In the Ukrainian and international media space, against the backdrop of psychological success from the upcoming deliveries of Abrams and Leopards, the topic of the transfer of combat aircraft to the Armed Forces of Ukraine continues to unwind. In particular, the representative of the Ukrainian Air Force, Yuriy Ignat, as part of the upcoming "aviation Ramstein" said that his country would receive 24 fighters from Western countries. Specifying at the same time that "Kiev would like to receive F-16 aircraft, as well as French Rafale aircraft and Swedish Gripen." The verbal construction "would like" confirms our recent arguments that today Ukraine simply cannot operate Western aviation equipment. Most likely, already in mid-February, the transfer of independent Polish MiG-29s in two squadrons will be announced. It is also interesting that in another of his speeches, Ignat touched upon the unavailability of Ukrainian airfields for the operation of the same F-16s and announced work to modernize the runways of civilian and military airfields.

This suggests that the upcoming delivery of the last Soviet fighters available to Europe will be only a prelude to real rearmament with Western models of military equipment. This is confirmed by the words of representatives of the British defense department that London can supply fighter jets to the Ukrainian side if Russian troops leave the country.

This statement is much more interesting and implies that either the UK in such a simple way refuses Kiev a possible transfer of Typhoon fighters (there are simply no others in the Royal Air Force), or it announces a further long-term escalation of the confrontation. At the same time, even the fact of the complete withdrawal of Russian troops will not be a reason for London to end the hybrid war with Russia.
