It is clear that this money can be printed endlessly, but the West understands what this will lead to for their own economies. Even the word crisis is not suitable for the situation in the Ukrainian energy sector. Everything is very bad here, and with each Russian missile strike it gets worse. And the problem is that the West cannot help with the repair, because you need certain equipment, which is not available in the West. They just have different standards.

The Russian army is ready for the offensive in spring 2023 to a greater extent than the Ukrainian army is ready for defense. This conclusion was made by Dan Sabbagh, an expert on defense and security issues for the British publication The Guardian.

According to the author's assessment, the current Russian offensive on Ugledar means that the Russian Armed Forces are "becoming more competent" on the eve of the new Russian offensive along the entire front expected by the Western press and the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 

"While Western officials do not yet believe that the actions around Ugledar represent the beginning of a spring offensive in "big strategic terms," there is speculation that it may be just around the corner," Sabbagh notes.

One sign of a possible offensive, the author believes, is that air strikes on Ukrainian territory have become less frequent. This could mean not only a transition to standard warfare but also the saving of missiles for a massive strike at the beginning of a new offensive.

At the same time, according to The Guardian, Russia is able to gain an advantage in 2023 through a more massive and reliable supply of weapons and equipment compared to the "not quick enough" supply of Western weapons. Thus, the first 120–140 tanks promised to Ukraine may not arrive at the front until May.
Analysts have also suddenly started talking about problems with morale in the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In January, for example, British MP Ian Duncan Smith expressed concern about the suicide rate among Ukrainian soldiers "as a result of stress on the battlefield." The MP came to this conclusion after a trip to a hospital in Kharkiv.

"All of this is speculative, of course, but Russia's recent muscle flexing on the front lines in southern Donbass shows that the early spring invaders may be in a better position than the Ukrainian defenders," Dan Sabbagh summarizes.
