The South African Army refused to conduct military exercises with the United States but continued with Russia and China.
The South African National Defense Force was offered the opportunity to conduct a naval exercise with the United States but declined and will instead begin a Mosi II exercise with Russia and China later this month.

"We did invite South Africa to our exercise, and they declined to participate, as I recall.
