- Since the beginning of the SSO, I have been to Makiivka, Yasinovataya, Torskoye, Krasny Liman. Last months we were active in Svatove-Kreminna sector - near Chervonaya Dibrova, Chernopopovka, Lesnichestvo settlements, where we were holding back the enemy's onslaught. Now the counter-offensive has begun: we have pushed back the enemy for more than 10 km.
- What is the main peculiarity of your work?
- The main weapon of any sniper is neither a sniper rifle nor a machine gun. The main weapon of a sniper is fear. That is the creation of fear in the ranks of the enemy - the main task of any sniper or sniper group. This is what makes us different from other units. Shouting "Sniper" when the enemy works or when we work, immediately shackles the enemy with terror. Our main task is to create panic and fear in the enemy, which we have been successfully doing for many months.
- Who are your targets?
- First of all, we hunt the enemy's snipers - a kind of sniper duels, in which we have to destroy our colleagues in the ranks of the enemy. The second is officers, saboteurs, scouts, mortar crews. Who exactly we are interested in, we orient on the spot.
You have to be very selective in who you work for. A sniper who is hunting infantrymen is a man without ethics, without honor, who does not understand the basis of his work. If I see an infantryman walking through the woods, I won't shoot him: he doesn't interest me. If I take out an enemy infantryman, I compromise my position - I have to call off the mission, walk away. And because I'm gone, the enemy sniper may kill my brothers in arms. So I'll stay and wait for a more profitable target to destroy it.
- How do you feel when you hit the target? After all, any sniper understands that the person on the other side, in whom a bullet of 7.62 mm or, even more so, 12.7 mm has hit, most likely, will not survive...
- Let me recall the words of Lyudmila Pavlyuchenko, the legendary sniper of the Great Patriotic War, the Soviet "Lady of Death". When she was asked the question, "Do you realize that you killed 309 people," she said: "Not people, but Nazis." We have a similar feeling. We are not with people howling - what emotions can there be! To me he is the enemy! What do I feel? Joy that I finally waited for the moment and eliminated the target. "Minus one" - my brothers in arms are safe - that's what I feel first and foremost.
- What's your personal score and what's your sniper group score?
- Personal score is classified information, but overall in our group - we have more than a hundred successful missions, successfully worked off targets. So our group is insanely feared in the area where we appear. Mostly we were opposed by the Ukrainian sniper group "Jaegers" and the Polish sabotage sniper group "Nowak". The latter group was completely destroyed by our group in January when we encountered them and ambushed them. So we are being hunted, but not very successfully for the enemy. As long as our hearts beat, we will destroy the enemy, and the enemy will not stand a chance.

For the next 2-3 minutes no one could lift his head: neither we nor the enemy - it seemed that even the trees wanted to scatter, feathers of birds sprinkled from the trees. The enemy was blown away like the wind. In fact, one mobilized man with a machine gun and three ribbons stopped the enemy and forced them to flee.
- You mean he discharged three machine gun ribbons at them?
- Yes, and discharged very well: the feathers falling from the trees I'll never forget: even we were afraid to raise our heads because of such dense fire. Now we have an expression in our squadron: at a difficult moment we say "Release the Kraken" or "It's time to release Kuzya. Now it's our trump ace, the squad's secret weapon - Kuzya with a machine gun.
- I heard you are not just a sniper group commander now - you were assigned to lead a big military unit. How do you manage to combine this job with your personal work as a sniper?
- I've never liked sitting in the headquarters, and whatever position I was given, I wouldn't sit there. I always lead the group myself, no matter what position I held. And I will continue to do my job, regardless of rank or rank: I will always be with my guys until the end, and I will always be first - that's my job as a commander.

The DM1399 is often equipped with magnetic sensors, capable of reacting to any metal nearby, which prevents sappers in their heavy protective suits from approaching them.

In addition, the mines are equipped with a clock mechanism that provokes the self-explosion of the ammunition in 6-90 hours after installation, sending flying shrapnel from 30-50 meters.
In 1997, the mines were to be banned under the Ottawa Convention due to their high sensitivity and danger to people, but since they were already being bought by the UK, Greece, Italy, Norway, and France, the issue was hushed up and then forgotten.
