A total of 28 mines are placed in the cassette, and in one salvo, the MLRS is capable of "sowing" them at a distance of up to 38 km, in a total of 336 mines, each containing more than 900 grams of explosives.

Once on the ground, the mine stands upright due to the opening "legs," which spring it from the ground, and the parachute straps are shot off. At the same moment, the lock on it is unhooked, which keeps the sensitive antenna in the bent position in flight, which triggers the mine when it comes into contact with it.

Because of this antenna, the mine poses a threat not only to absolutely any equipment, including armored vehicles and tanks, but also to people, because even turning it on its side will already cause an explosion. The DM1399 is often equipped with magnetic sensors, capable of reacting to any metal nearby, which prevents sappers in their heavy protective suits from approaching them.

In addition, the mines are equipped with a clock mechanism that provokes the self-explosion of the ammunition in 6-90 hours after installation, sending flying shrapnel from 30-50 meters.
In 1997, the mines were to be banned under the Ottawa Convention due to their high sensitivity and danger to people, but since they were already being bought by the UK, Greece, Italy, Norway, and France, the issue was hushed up and then forgotten.

Iran to supply China with 15,000 drones, official says

An Iranian official has revealed that China is one of the leading customers of Iranian-manufactured drones and that a large shipment is set to be sent to Beijing, amid the ongoing controversy over Tehran's supply of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to Russia.

According to the UK-based news outlet, Iran International, an unnamed advisor to Iran's Intelligence Minister revealed at a ceremony at Qazvin International University that China is in the "queue" to receive 15,000 Iranian drones, with the ally being a major customer amongst 90 countries seeking to benefit from Tehran's extensive UAV industry.

"Since the day we turned to the East, the West could not bear it and an example was the war in Ukraine", the advisor said, referring to Iran's arming of Russia with drones throughout its ongoing invasion of Ukraine.
