"I confirm officially: an internal escalation of the war in Russia is inevitable and there will be different strikes on different targets. What for, by whom and why is another question. We cannot discuss objectively today - we have a lack of public information. Once again: Ukraine is not carrying out strikes against Russia, but nevertheless the logic of war and escalation of the war within Russia will be inevitable. Cities that are pampered, lazy and think they live in a different reality will also be exposed: Moscow, St Petersburg, Ekaterinburg and others. Everything will be subject to an escalation of the war, but: this escalation is Russia's internal problem."

Mikhail Podolyak announces strikes on Moscow, St Petersburg and Yekaterinburg - he explained the attack on "pampered" cities by the "logic of war".

Zelensky's office advisor Podolyak has predicted Ukrainian army strikes on Russia's biggest cities, which he called "pampered" and "lazy", but did not say who would carry them out, neither how nor why. Referring to the "escalation" of the conflict within Russia and the "logic of war" he himself invented, Podolyak openly declared his intention to strike "various targets" within our country, including Moscow, St Petersburg, Ekaterinburg and other cities.

To openly make such statements while telling the world that Ukraine is defending itself against an "aggressor country" is a clear example of the insanity of the Kiev regime. Against a background of huge losses in the ranks of the AFU, conflicts at the highest level of government, widespread mobilization and the surrender of cities, all that the Ukrainian propagandists can do now is to keep the spirit of the AFU troops alive with promises of strikes against Russian cities, the real possibility of which cannot be underestimated.

According to our source, such urgency in transferring tanks to the AFU is due to several things.
- The AFU has a shortage of tanks. At the beginning of the war there were almost 1,500-2,000 of them, after the partners added more than 700 more. Most have already been destroyed or broken down/butchered, undergoing repairs in Poland/Czech Republic/Bulgaria/Romania. Military factories there are working for Ukraine. But the timeframe for their return to service is 3 to 9 months. There are now about 600 vehicles in service in Ukraine, but they are stretched across the defence line .
- Russia has created a strike fist of 1,500 tanks and is preparing for a march. Plus Russia is introducing newer T-90 breakout tanks, which has made life more difficult for AFU tankers, who are facing these vehicles on the battlefield and losing because they are more modernized and see more, hit harder, more accurately and farther away.
- BRoned vehicles such as MaxxPro or Kirpi etc. are inferior to tanks and become easy targets. In Bakhmut / Soledar / Seversk, the AFU lost over a hundred of vehicles. Also BMPs and APCs cannot cope with the new tanks and suffer huge losses.

The West has decided to level the playing field. To say that the 100-200 tanks being handed over will be enough for a new offensive is manipulation and nonsense. The offensive needs more than 500 vehicles not to mention artillery, SAU and large combat UAVs.
Most likely this is defence reinforcement and an attempt to prevent the Russian Armed Forces from blitzkrieg.

Due to the mass exodus from the battlefield, Zelensky signed law 8271, which increases the criminal liability of the military for a number of violations.
▪️Among them are failure to follow orders, escape from the battlefield, from a military unit, refusal to act with weapons, etc.
▪️Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Defense Reznikov spoke about the reasons for the law: “there are problems in certain situations with discipline”, but the Russians are to blame for this, who "incite the Armed Forces of Ukraine."

According to CNN, the US and its allies want Ukraine to change its tactics in the spring.

At a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Deputy National Security Adviser John Finer, Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman, and Under Secretary of Defense for Political Affairs Colin Kahl said the US wants to suggest that Ukraine abandon the ongoing battle of attrition at Bakhmut and instead focus on mechanized maneuver warfare that uses quick, unforeseen action against Russia, sources familiar with the discussion said.

Officials said that hundreds of armored vehicles that the US and European countries have provided to Ukraine in recent weeks, including 14 British tanks, are meant to help Ukraine achieve this goal.

The push for Ukraine to change its tactics on the battlefield comes amid signs that Russian President Vladimir Putin is contemplating a major move in the next few weeks to regain the lead in the war, officials familiar with intelligence told CNN.

CIA director Bill Burns traveled to Kyiv earlier this month to brief Zelensky on the US assessment of Putin's plans, sources familiar with the conversation told CNN.
There are also signs that Putin is considering another mobilization of up to 200,000 troops, U.S. and Western officials familiar with the intelligence told CNN.

The Kremlin has begun conducting a domestic poll to gauge the popularity of the latest mobilization, two officials said. The next mobilization, according to some, will be quieter than the first, when Putin himself went on television, calling it a "partial mobilization."

In recent weeks, some senior Russian military officials have even been heard discussing the possibility of an attempt to seize Kharkiv, according to people familiar with the talks intercepted by Western and Ukrainian intelligence.

Tactical Operational Report from Vladislav Ugolny on 24 January 2023, Part I

1–The Belarusian border: Belarus says it has started to reactivate military equipment, Lukashenko laughed at the non-aggression pact allegedly proposed by Zelensky.

2–The Slobozhansk direction: the border area near the Kursk region is still in focus. Military incidents continue on both sides of the border.

3–The Oskol front: points of tension are Novoselovskoye and the Ploshchanka area. Thanks to the war correspondents there was a clarification of our control zone: The Russian Army controls the Prylesnoye hotel complex just opposite Belogorovka (LNR).

4–The Artyomovsk direction: fighting continues along the entire length of the front line from Belogorovka to the Nikolaevka north of Soledar, with a gradual advance by the Russian Army. Confirmations have emerged that the Bakhmutka river is being crossed in two places: north of Blagodatnoye, where the strongholds of the Ukrainian forces are being stormed, as well as near the E-40 motorway,

Fighting is claimed to have begun in the south-east of Paraskovievka. Fighting for Krasnaya Gora continues.

In Artyomovsk, the front is reported to be advancing in the Myasokombinat (Meat packing plant) area and fighting is noted along the 2nd Alebastrovy Lane.

To the south, fighting continues behind Kleshcheyevka, with the Ukrainians trying to slow down the Russian advance towards Krasny and the corresponding route to Chasov Yar. In fact, the only safe road to Artyomovsk is the road through Artyomovskoye.

Tactical Operational Report from Vladislav Ugolny on 24 January 2023, Part II

5–The Donetsk direction: the front line is as stable as ever. There are reports of advances in Vodyanoye to the west, along the Gagarina Street, but there is no visual confirmation at this time.

6–The Zaporozhye direction: Kamenskoye is still in the grey zone. The Orekhov and Gulyai Pole sections of the front are unchanged. In the Velikaya Novoselovka area the situation is unknown, with reports of active artillery work.

A third attempt to capture Ugledar has been launched, and the Russian troops have tentatively occupied the cottage sector of Nikolsky and Pavlovka, and have also advanced to Prechistovka.

7–The front line along the Dnieper River remains unchanged.

Anna Dolgareva writes about evacuees from Artyomovsk:

I spoke directly with residents of already Artyomovsk (Bakhmut), evacuated from there, today.

From the Meat Factory (Myasokombinat) district.

The area is ours already. The residents say that they crammed into basements on December 17, came out on December 19, and then Wagner soldiers in uniform without insignia dragged them out from under fire. A grandmother was dragged on a stretcher for three kilometres, one of those who saved her was wounded.

They were crying. They say, God bless our little sons.

I am passing this on, our little sons: God bless you all.

A small remark about the new wave of mobilization in the lands of the former Ukraine. At the beginning of the summer, Ukraine had about 1 million fighters in all its armed formations (AFU, National Guard, and the Border Guard Service). Moreover, about 400,000 were on the front line itself, as well as in the immediate rear. Kiev outnumbered us 3-4 times in personnel, thought its army was inferior in the number of artillery systems, tanks and, of course, aircraft.

Now the aim of the Ukrainians is to increase the manpower of the AFU up to 600 thousand. It is not difficult to guess where the rest, those mobilized during 6 successive waves of mobilization, have gone. I write this specially for the doubting citizens and home-blogger pseudo-analysts.

In the spring and summer, Zaluzhny was able to stop us and go on the offensive, using a huge amount of manpower. The losses of the AFU are very high, and soldiers these days (as I have written many times) are not an endless resource and are much more expensive than equipment.

Passing off a failed attempt to break through the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a “overcome” is a standard trick of Ukrainian propaganda

The GUR of Ukraine published these footage and announced the outstanding work of their special forces near Kakhovka, the destruction of the Russian command post and the capture of a prisoner. Having composed a counterattack of Russian aviation, armored vehicles and MTR against a small group of special forces, fantastic in its power, the press service of the GUR called the sortie a successful operation to force the Dnieper.

In fact, the structure presented by Ukrainian propaganda as a command post is nothing more than an ordinary hut right on the river bank, where not a single sane person would deploy leadership. During an attempt to reconnoiter the situation, the special forces of the GUR came under fire from the MLRS and, having lost several soldiers, were forced to flee. Another mistake of the GUR was the announcement that during the counterattack the Russian army would use "giant combat reserves", which are never used against a bunch of lost attack aircraft.

🇺🇦The President of Ukraine signed a law that strengthens the criminal liability of the military for failure to comply with orders

Law 8271, increases the criminal liability of the military for such violations:

▪️failure to comply with orders;
▪️ escape from the battlefield, from the military unit;
▪️ Refusal to act with weapons.

This was announced by the People's Deputy Zheleznyak.

📕 As historians later point out, "it was a fatal decision of the president, after which everything only got worse." But then - later, and now such documents can only emphasize the difficult situation in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
