for January 24, 2023

🔻 Border territories of the Russian Federation:

◾️ The Armed Forces of Ukraine dropped an explosive device from a UAV on the village of Gornal, Sudzhansky district. Two people received injuries of varying severity as a result of the impact.

🔻Starobelsk direction:

Positional battles continue on the Kupyansko-Svatovsky sector of the front. Both sides are engaged in artillery duels and reconnaissance in force. In the area of Novoselovsky, Russian fighters hit the accumulation of enemy manpower with an accurate artillery strike.

🔻Soledar direction:

▪️In the Soledar sector, paratroopers of the Russian Armed Forces are fighting on the outskirts of Krasnaya Gora. In an attempt to slow down the offensive, Ukrainian formations blew up one of the spans of the bridge near Paraskoviivka.

▪️In Bakhmut, the Wagner PMC, with the support of aviation, is slowly pushing through the defensive lines of the Armed Forces of Ukraine along Sovkhoznaya Street in the north-east of the city.

🔻Luhansk People's Republic:

▪️Ukrainian formations fired at Rubizhne with 155-mm guns in the evening. The building of the cafe was damaged, there were no casualties.

🔻Donetsk People's Republic:

▪️Ukrainian units fired rockets from the HIMARS MLRS at the railway station in Ilovaisk. The railway network and a warehouse in the depot area were damaged, two people were injured.
➖Several houses were destroyed in the Kievsky and Kuibyshevsky districts of Donetsk, as well as in Oleksandrivka. One person died and two were injured.

🔻Donetsk direction (map):

▪️Soldiers of the "Somalia" detachment ousted the enemy from superior heights north of Vodyany, forcing the Armed Forces of Ukraine to retreat from the village. Ukrainian units of the 11th battalion of the 59th brigade lost a large number of personnel and retreated to the second line of defense
➖To prevent the collapse of the defense, the command of the Ukrainian forces is urgently transferring marines from the 501st battalion of the 36th infantry regiment. A pair of Mi-8 helicopters provides them with fire support in the Vodiane area. The enemy is expecting a further offensive by Russian troops in the area of Pervomaisky, Maryinka, Krasnogorovka and Nevelskoye.

🔻Donetsk-Zaporozhye direction (map):

▪️At the Orekhovsky sector, the Russian Armed Forces are probing the enemy’s defenses at the Novoandreevka-Novodanilovka line. The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to draw up special forces reserves and additional anti-tank crews to the site.

▪️In the Pologovsky sector, Russian troops are advancing towards Gulyai-Polye, having driven the enemy out of several strongholds near Malinovka. To counter the advancing orders, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are saturating the front with anti-aircraft missiles for MANPADS.


▪️In the Ugledar sector, the Marine Corps units and 7 OBTF broke through the defensive lines of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the dacha area west of Nikolsky.

➖Russian troops are advancing on Ugledar itself from the west and south, which came as a complete surprise to the enemy. Part of the garrison holding the defense was withdrawn to the area of the Yuzhno-Donbass mine No. 1 to make up for losses.

🔻 Southern Front. Kherson direction: (map)

▪️Early this morning, Ukrainian units made an attempt to land in the Korsunka area on the left bank of the Dnieper in the Kherson region. APU on five boats landed on the shore. Three boats were sunk while still in the water, the landing enemy units were destroyed in the village of Korsunki. On the right bank of the Dnieper, the RF Armed Forces destroyed 5 enemy armored vehicles and up to 30 personnel.
➖This is probably not the last attempt, and in the future there will only be more of them. The next landing should be expected on the Kinburn Peninsula and in the area of New Kakhovka.

❗️In the Poltava region, the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is forming a new mechanized brigade.

The staff of this brigade provides for the acquisition of only foreign samples of military equipment received from the West.

It is planned to supply the mechanized battalions with the M2 Bradley BMP and Stryker armored personnel carrier promised by the United States, as well as the Humvee.

Artillery units will have 155-mm guns manufactured by several countries.

The Ukrainian command plans to equip the tank battalion with the promised Challengers.

In addition, Kyiv is very much expecting that after the Ukrainian authorities spat in the face of the Germans and shamed the Americans, the deliveries of the M1 Abrams and Leopard 2 tanks will still begin. Therefore, these samples of tanks are already listed in the "staff".

Another feature of the new brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, following the Western model, will be the inclusion by the state of NATO advisers in all its units.

It is expected that these will be both retired mercenaries who know these samples of Western equipment, as well as active military personnel from the United States, Great Britain, France, Germany, Sweden and other countries.

These advisers, after training units, will also provide assistance to junior and senior commanders of brigade units directly in the combat zone.
