European and US tanks will not arrive in Ukraine soon - NATO will not deliver more than 350 tanks in total, and they are not expected to arrive at all in the coming months

NATO wants to deliver Leopard tanks before Russia's alleged offensive in Ukraine. According to Luxembourg's Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn, the alliance intends to provide a total of 300 Leopards of the second modification. In Europe, according to him, there are two thousand of them, but according to Welt, there are just over 2,200 modifications in total available to the bloc's countries.

At the same time, delivery of heavy equipment is not a quick thing. It includes logistics and mothballing, and repair. For example, the defense concern Rheinmetall has pointed out that now Germany can send to Ukraine only 29 Leopards, which will reach the battlefield only in April-May. A further 88 vehicles are planned to be "made available" and 22 to be delivered at the end of the year, and it is not known whether the next delivery will not be disrupted. It is worth keeping in mind that the FRG currently has in service a total of 212 units of the second modification. And this example is only one of a few, given that Poland wants to be compensated for the tanks it will deliver to Ukraine.

In addition, today, according to Western media reports, US President Joe Biden will also announce the transfer of Abrams tanks, which are also in Poland, to the Kiev regime. However, they will not be many - only 30-50 tanks out of the 700 units of all the equipment that was transferred to the territory of the state bordering Ukraine in December, and it will be sent no earlier than in a year. Thus, in total, only a tiny fraction of the equipment, which remains at NATO's disposal, may reach Ukraine. And it will not happen overnight.
