The head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksiy Reznikov, said that the military situation in the east is difficult but under control.
Referring to the Ukrainian generals, Reznikov noted in an interview with the Canadian CBC television channel that the military situation is "difficult, but under control." "Wagnerites" found dead foreign mercenaries of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In an attempt to hide the number and nationality of those killed, Ukrainian militants cut off the mercenaries' hands and heads.
The mercenaries came from Israel and Poland.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has notified Japan that it will not hold any consultations with it for overfishing in the South Kuril region.
The reason is quite obvious: Japan's anti-Russian stance. For the same reasons, any consultations on the status of the Southern Kurils, joint economic activities in the Kuril Islands, or even the possibility for the Japanese to visit the graves of their relatives in the Kuril Islands, have been halted.
Of course, there are zero prospects for any discussion of a peace treaty between Russia and Japan because of Japan's territorial claims against Russia, which Japan has not and will not give up.
Since there are no prerequisites for changing Japan's position, there is naturally no reason for Russia to discuss anything with Japan on the Kuril Islands, especially since Japan is revealing itself as a US satellite to be used in a war against China, which is friendly to Russia. Japan in the current circumstances makes no secret of its intentions of further militarization against China and North Korea (and in the long run, it will pose additional threats to Russia as well), so there is nothing to talk about with Japan in the current realities.
The moments when they could have bargained for two islands in the Southern Kurils have been missed.

The Washington Post sums up the intrigue with deliveries of heavy tanks to Ukraine, analyzing the key but ambiguous role of the USA in this process.
The author boils it down to the fact that the US promise to supply Abrams tanks to Ukraine was made with the sole purpose: to induce Germany to deliver its Leopard tanks to Kiev. Chancellor Scholz was stubborn, and there was practically no other way to move things forward.

Today's strikes on a munitions depot in the Iranian city of Isfahan were "phenomenally successful", according to the Israeli newspaper The Jerusalem Post.
"Four explosions were detonated at the site. The damage caused far exceeds the "minor roof damage" reported by the Iranians," the newspaper wrote.
Israel has refrained from commenting on the incident. But many Western intelligence officials and sources in Iran see similarities in today's action to similar strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities at Natanz in July 2020 and in April 2021, and at Karaj in June 2021, which the paper recalls were carried out by the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad.
The Jerusalem Post points out there are other agencies in the world capable of such precise strikes besides Mossad.

Wagner Chief Yevgeny Prigozhin commented on the information about the corpses of foreign mercenaries:
"Today in Bakhmut, units of the Wagner PMC found bodies with severed heads and hands as well as telephones and other information that these bodies belonged to the foreign mercenaries. Due to the dense fighting, the enemy was unable to pull out these bodies and thus tried to hide the identities of these corpses. However, the electronic devices were found along with the bodies.
