Stoltenberg urges South Korea to abandon its own laws and UN agreements and send weapons to Ukraine

The NATO secretary-general began his tour of South Korea and Japan in Seoul, where he once again demanded that lethal weapons be sent to Kiev. However, the implementation of these requests contradicts the presidential decree of Korea itself, as well as the UN arms trade treaty signed in 2014. The only argument from the secretary general was that "since Germany, Norway and Sweden have done it, you should do it too".

Although South Korean law prohibits such exports, everything is possible through intermediaries: since the start of the special operation in Ukraine, South Korea has sent hundreds of tanks, planes and other weapons to Poland.

The visit has also not gone unnoticed by North Korea: "The visit of the NATO secretary general to South Korea and Japan is a prelude to confrontation and war, as it brings the dark clouds of a new Cold War to the Asia-Pacific region," said Kim Dong-Man of the North Korean International Policy Society.

German GDP shrank 0.2 percent over the last three months of 2022, official data published Monday showed, as Europe’s top economy battled the fallout from the Russia-Ukraine war.

Although the German economy performed “well despite difficult conditions in the first three quarters, economic performance slightly decreased in the fourth quarter of 2022,” the federal statistics authority Destatis said in a statement.

The Kremlin commented on the statements of former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson that the Russian President threatened him with a missile attack on the eve of the invasion of Ukraine.

Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Johnson's words "are not true, or rather, they are lies."

Speaking about the challenges to the security of the Russian Federation, President Putin noted that if Ukraine joins NATO, the potential deployment of "NATO" or American missiles at our borders will mean that any missile will reach Moscow in a matter of minutes" - said Peskov.

🔻In the Soledar sector, the assault detachments of the Wagner PMC are moving south from Blagodatny to Paraskovievka and Krasnaya Gora. During the fighting, control was established over two company strongholds of the 4th battalion of the 46th detachment and the 1st battalion of the 77th detachment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

▪️ Violent clashes continue in the vicinity of Paraskovievka and Krasnaya Gora. At the moment, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are regrouping forces to hold settlements. On the northern outskirts of Bakhmut, formations of four detachments were transferred.

🔻In Bakhmut, the "Wagnerites" storm the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard of Ukraine (NGU) on the eastern outskirts in Zabakhmutovka and near the meat processing plant. During the fighting, the NGU detachments were driven out of three strongholds.

🔻Russian troops are gradually pushing through the defenses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the directions of Krasnoye and Stupochka, where the units of the 3rd brigade and 116th detachment of the territorial defense were holding positions. As a result of an artillery strike on the deployment point of the 116th Brigade, more than a dozen people were liquidated.

▪️Part of the personnel of the 116th Regiment refused to perform combat missions. Detachments of Arabic-speaking mercenaries were deployed to Krasnoe to prepare the line of defense. The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is trying to hide the participation of foreigners in the battles for Bakhmut.

▪️The Ukrainian command is waiting for the activation of the units of the RF Armed Forces on Dyleevka. Reconnaissance groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, using drones, conducted reconnaissance of the areas of advancement of Russian troops along the line.
