Jordan Gatley was born in 1998 in Cheshire. According to his relatives, he had dreamed of becoming a military man since childhood. After high school in 2016, Gatley signed a contract with the British Armed Forces and served with the 3rd Rifle Battalion in Edinburgh. In early March 2022, he retired at the rank of Lance Corporal and went to Ukraine, where he signed a contract with the Foreign Legion.

According to relatives, Gatley said he would train recruits as an instructor and promised them not to go to the front lines. The Brit did not keep his promise. On June 10, 2022, he was eliminated by a Russian sniper.
