Briefly on the situation on the Svatovo-Kremenna front line—the area of responsibility of the 🇷🇺144th motorized rifle division. 

This morning, the 144th Guards motorized rifle division, after almost a week of defense, went on the counteroffensive. Assault troops of the 488th, 254th Motorized Rifle Division, and 59th Tank Regiment attacked the enemy, and despite AFU's stubborn resistance, our guardsmen fulfilled their task for the day. The 144th Division's reinforcements advanced in different sectors of the front from 300 to 700 meters and secured their positions. 

Assault units , meanwhile, moved on, and, despite the darkness of the night, continued their offensive. The AFU units, defending the area, took heavy losses, and retreated to the second line of defense. Just over 2 kilometers remain to Yampolovka (Russians are 2km away from Yampolovka)

To a large extent, Russian troops' advancement is complicated by a large number of mine obstacles set by the Ukrainians. And here we want to mention without exaggeration the heroic work of sappers who work round the clock to make a breakthrough for the advancing troops, under continuous enemy artillery fire. The enemy's fire is very strong, and the AFU does not seem to have any shortage of ammunition, especially of 105 mm caliber.

Once again, the BMPT "Terminator," working in tandem with our tank crews, performed very well during the air defense. Its effective action, especially in the dark, is not only fascinating, but also very effective.

On the whole, the fighters are on a roll. Having withstood the onslaught of the enemy and fighting back for a week at dagger range, our guys not only did not retreat a single step, but now they are driving the enemy away themselves. As I wrote above, Yampolovka is already in the immediate vicinity. The AFU concentrated large forces in Terny, as well as on the main line of defense on the heights. 

But as we know, courage takes a city. Especially if courage is accompanied by well-trained soldiers and a very competent and intelligent commander.

Ukrainian forces are unlikely to be able to retake Crimea in the near future, four senior Pentagon officials said in speeches to the US Congress. They made a closed report to the defense committee, the newspaper Politico writes.

"The Pentagon does not believe that Ukraine has or will soon be able to push Russian troops out of the peninsula," sources said.

Another interlocutor familiar with the report said that "Ukraine's victory in the offensive to retake its illegally annexed territory is not guaranteed."

Speakers included Laura Cooper, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Russia, Ukraine and Eurasia, and Lieutenant General Douglas Sims, Chief of Operations at the Joint Staff.

Previously, such doubts were publicly expressed by the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Mark Milley. According to Politico, after these words, "Zelensky's administration was furious as Ukraine prepares for a major offensive in the spring."
