The South African Army refused to conduct military exercises with the United States but continued with Russia and China.

The South African National Defense Force was offered the opportunity to conduct a naval exercise with the United States but declined and will instead begin a Mosi II exercise with Russia and China later this month.

This was revealed during a media briefing last week with Rear Admiral Chase Patrick, director of the U.S. Naval Staff in Europe and Africa, who spoke to the media about the Obangame Express 2023 exercise that just ended in Nigeria.

"We did invite South Africa to our exercise, and they declined to participate, as I recall. "There are upcoming exercises in the plan, like Cutlass Express, that focus on some of our partner nations in eastern Africa, which I think would be a really good place to get South Africa involved, but they're just not participating this year," Patrick said.

⚫️ Svatovo-Kremennoye

Near Kremennaya without incident. At the moment, the Russian army is entrenched in its positions, continuing the counter-battery fight. T-90M tanks were also seen on an important sector of the front, constantly fighting against armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (number 1) . According to the Ministry of Defense, six brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were attacked in this direction in a day. The enemy lost over 150 militants, five armored vehicles, six vehicles and a D-30 howitzer.

⚫️ Artemovskoe (Bakhmut)

"Orchestra" continue to develop the offensive in Artemovsk . From the north, ours are suppressing the defense units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of the Stupki railway station. To the north of the station, the fighters of the "orchestra" successfully carried out flank coverage of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine between the "Stupki" station and the village of Paraskovievka , and ours are also suppressing militants with fire in the Krasnaya Gora area. There is information that, south of Artemovsk , the Wagner PMC fighters cut the road between Stupochki and the village of Ivanovskoye (number 3) . If, as a result, the militants fail the defense at the turn of Chasov Yar-Krasnoe , then the RF Armed Forces and the “orchestra” will enter the operational space.

⚫️ Zaporozhye direction

Under Ugledar, the militants launched a counteroffensive. According to military correspondents, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched active counterattacks in the area of dachas (figure 2) . At the moment, the Russian army repels enemy attacks and holds the defense. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defense reported on the successful operations of artillery in the areas of Ugledar and Vodyany DPR.
