Kupyansk direction: Dvurechnoye

Today, the Russian Defense Ministry officially announced the liberation of the village of Dvurechnoye (Dvorichna) . Thus, after a successful breakthrough (about a week and a half ago) of our units to the south, we were able to push the enemy across the Oskol River as far as the 1st Lyman. 

Also, after losing their positions near Sinkovka a couple of days ago, the Armed Forces of Ukraine pulled back to Petropavlovka (just a few kilometers from Kupyansk) and are now trying to build their defense here. 
However, as the units of the RF armed forces have occupied the adjacent heights, if suddenly the Russian army decides to go further, it will be very, very difficult (or involve heavy losses) for the Ukrainian army to hold it.

Ukraine's ammunition is "almost at zero", Ihor Zhovkva, deputy head of the opposition parliamentary faction, told Bloomberg.

According to him, ammunition is running out very quickly due to the intensity of the fighting.

"We desperately need weapons, ammunition, artillery, battle tanks, armored vehicles, fighter jets," Zhovkva said.

Fighters are needed, among other things, to intercept ballistic missiles, which Ukraine is currently unable to shoot down.

The OP says that Ukrainian pilots will not have to be trained to fly Western fighters not just for several years, as is expected, but not even for a year. Zhovkva admits that the pilots will be ready as early as spring because they are "very experienced".

He also specified that Ukraine is asking for long-range missiles of 300 km, but categorically promises not to hit Russian territory.

Ukraine is unlikely to receive British fighter jets until after the war with Russia is over, the Defence Secretary has said.

Ben Wallace was hoping to calm speculation over the issue after President Zelensky finished his speech in London on Wednesday by saying "thank you in advance for powerful English planes".

Speaking at a joint UK-Italy ministerial press conference in Rome, Mr Wallace was quick to underline that although the UK will be the first nation to start training Ukrainian pilots on Nato-standard aircraft, "Britain hasn’t said it is necessarily going to send fighter jets to Ukraine".

Any battlefield impact of the moves would likely be “post-conflict”, he said.

“What it has said is we’re going to start training to improve the resilience of Ukraine, probably post-conflict, which is no different from what we were doing in 2015 where Britain, Sweden, Canada, America were training the Ukrainians to form their defence,” Mr Wallace said.
The Defence Secretary was keen to establish political wiggle room after Rishi Sunak gave a warm reception to Mr Zelensky’s request for “wings” to protect his country’s freedom.

'Like going from a bicycle to an F1 team'

On Tuesday, Mr Sunak instructed the Ministry of Defence to investigate which of Britain’s planes could be given to Ukraine.

He said it could take three years to train a pilot - but Mr Zelensky snapped back at a press conference in Dorset that his pilots had already received two-and-a-half years of instruction.  
On Thursday, Mr Wallace ruled out sending British jets in the near future, saying it would be like going “from a bicycle to a Formula 1 team”.

He compared the complexity of operating and supporting a Typhoon with the relatively simple next-generation light anti-tank weapon (Nlaw), previously gifted by the UK and which Ukrainian troops have been using to devastating effect against Russian tanks.
“You’re going from gifting a bicycle - think of the Nlaws - to a Formula One team,” he said.
“With a fighter comes a pit crew. In a Formula One team, without a pit crew you can’t start the car and it certainly can’t do more than eight laps.
“If you give a Typhoon, you’re going to have to give a whole load of people.”

Switzerland has rejected a request from Spain to allow it to re-export Swiss-made anti-aircraft guns to Ukraine, the Bern government said on Friday.

Madrid had made the request in January to allow two 35mm anti-aircraft guns, which were made in Switzerland, be sent to Ukraine.
Switzerland has previously vetoed requests from Denmark and Germany who wanted to send Swiss-made armoured vehicles and ammunition to help Ukraine in its war
