YouTube Channels - Customisation

You'll see this message in YouTube studio when customising your channel.

What it fails to mention is that you'll need a channels section on your home tab in order for anything to show in the "Channels" tab.

So keep in mind if you don't want any channel groupings on the home tab you can't show any groupings elsewhere.

The major PTA with this change is that the option to randomise how featured channels are shown is gone.

Another reason I think TEXT is a terrible idea in YouTube thumbnails: embeds.

You cannot control the shape of the space your video is displayed in. Therefore you cannot control the display of text contained in your YouTube thumbnail.

I would recommend not including text in YouTube thumbnails.

WhatsApp introduces disappearing messages.

"Today, WhatsApp messages often live on our phones forever. While it’s great to hold onto memories from friends and family, most of what we send doesn’t need to be everlasting.

Our goal is to make conversations on WhatsApp feel as close to in-person as possible, which means they shouldn’t have to stick around forever. That’s why we’re excited to introduce the option to use disappearing messages on WhatsApp.

When disappearing messages is turned on, new messages sent to a chat will disappear after seven days, helping the conversation feel lighter and more private. In a one-to-one chat, either person can turn disappearing messages on or off. In groups, admins will have the control."

Sometimes when you share a YouTube link on Twitter you end up sharing just the link: no embedded video. Why is that?

One reason is the link has not yet been cached.

An easy fix, PING! Refresh the page and Twitter will have cached the link.
