Please read this short blog article I wrote last night.
Then let me have your feedback or comments.
I'm not using this post for comments on the article this time. which I usually do, so there is a non-Telegram commenting option available there this time.
The article once again tackles the subject of Telegram replies, but this time focuses on value for the user themselves.

Twitter adds the Spaces button as the center button of their mobile App, (at least on Android) in a bid to get people more involved.
But has the audio bubble already burst?

Do you need a seperate YouTube channel for Shorts?
MKBHD has officially announced a new channel for shorts. It's a trend at the moment, but is it the right way to go and why do YouTubers feel that there is a need for seperate channel for shorts?
Personally my view is that shorts aren't their own thing on YouTube. They are often used to make a short version of a long video on the same channel and this duplication is what suggest that the seperation is a good idea.
I'd say YouTube has dropped the ball. What was and still is needed are notification filters. So that subscribers can choose what they want to be notified of from a channel: no shorts, just shorts etc.

Careful rebranding.
YouTube's videos descriptions have moved
This may be an A/B test, but I'm seeing (on the Youtube desktop site) video description no longer expanding below thge video, but are now displayed to the right.
When the decription is long enough there is an aditional "More" button to expand the decription box further.
I understand the logic of this as the viewer can read the description while the video plays in place, but it feels to me like it's less connected to the videi itself.
Are you seeing this on desktop too?
Whay do you think?

- TWO QUESTIONS -
1: What do you expect from others on social media?
To clarify, I'm specifically asking about interactions. If you reply on Twitter or leave a comment to a video on YouTube for example; what is your expectation relating to that action. Did you do it just to make a thought concrete, or is your expectation that the person you are directing that thought towards will see and possibly respond to your communication.
2. What can others expect from YOU on social media?
For example personally I aim to be (as) available for discord across digital channels (as possible).
There are technical hurdles across platforms which make this more or less possible. For example Twitter replies or mentions come through as notificatons: I have NOT muted the App. But if people choose a direct message as their avenue to connect with me there then I am likely to be delayed because Twitter does not notify of DMs from users you are not following. But I do not restrict the natural available throughput from any App.
A different example would be that today a person applogised for not replying to me on Telegram because although they had communicated with me on Telegram they did not allow to App to notify them of responses. Relying instead on choosing to open the App to see if there was something there.
I suspect that most people choose their favourite app. Letting that app notify them and quieting others.
But I'm interested to hear both what you expect from others and what others can expect from you.
