I went to quite a number of people in the past and discussed bitcoin. This is right back to 2007 before I launched.
I tried to explain how little investment would be needed when I was at BDO and how much this would help the firm globally. Any person who really gave me the time of day was Alan Granger. There were people who worked for me at BDO, but they had a different focus anyway. Some of my friends.
Have been good friends with David Bridges for years. However, I haven’t spoken to him until recently. With everything that happened after I left Australia entire debacle followed me, and I shut myself off. I shouldn’t have, friends are necessary, but I am not good at handling and talking to people.
He was a good friend; we were very close, but like Stefan Matthews, I found him exasperating. I’m not insulting.
The problem is mine, not his.
In both cases, both Stefan and David were people I tried to sell my ideas to. I know there were too early. I know rationally that most ideas fail, and people don’t want to implement them until they know they will succeed. However, it still doesn’t change the fact that it hurts when people tell you your ideas are crazy and don’t see how they will work. I know for each of them, it was the rational choice not to implement bitcoin in 2008/9/10. But, it still doesn’t stop feeling as if people don’t trust your ideas… I logically understand. But, not many of my ideas are ever accepted within five years of me coming up with them.
95% of them are eventually accepted.
It's an interesting discrepancy that I don't know how to address. I keep building anyway. Micro payments are the future. Elliott stated that it is more important to train and educate a few people very well, far more important than educating the masses poorly. I agree with this sentiment although few today do.

Teranode is the future of the Bitcoin network | Stefan Matthews | CG Backstage
Speaking to #CGBackstage on the sidelines of the Digital Pilipinas Festival 2023, Stefan Matthews, Executive Chairman and CEO of nChain Group, talks about why 2024 will be the year when blockchain developers will reap the rewards of what they've been sowing…
Let me rephrase what Lopp is actually saying: “yeah, we all know Craig is Satoshi, but he needs to be discredited and GONE, why? Bcz CSW wants to upset the $1 trillion BTC apple cart Ponzi that took us 15 years to build!
So what that we had to remove all the “working parts” of Bitcoin to make our masters (Mastercard etc.) happy. If we hadn’t, they would use all their clout to shut us down (doesn’t hurt they gave us a few tens of $millions😁).
For Gods sake, we’ve now even convinced the world’s largest money managers (like BlackRock) to get BTC ETF’s approved! We are almost there!!! In just a few years we could take this do-nothing BTC ponzi coin to $1 fuvking million 😖
We thought if we could convince some big money companies to get together in COPA and sue CSW out of existence, that should put the nail in Satoshi’s coffin. But that damn Zuckerberg figured out our game plan and pulled META out just before the trial and that Billionaire Calvin Ayer has more patience than God and keeps supporting CSW.
Shit, and now Craig is “tearing the COPA attorneys a new a$s hole” at this trial, and I’m afraid he’s proving to the whole world what we’ve known all along - that he is indeed Satoshi. And to think WE are to blame for pushing him to the point where we will now lose everything!
To make matters worse, that damn Satoshi has recreated the original promise of Bitcoin (worldwide scaled/low cost tx) that he always wanted, into BSV. So now it’s a proven fact that Bitcoin can actually do everything he said it could do, 15 years ago.
We thought by sending one of our spies, Ager Hansson, into
@nchain
we could finish of CSW - but dammit, Craig is like Trump, the more you throw at him the stronger he gets.😡
I’m afraid now our perfect (we thought) BTC Ponzi might finally be exposed for what it is - a shiny pet rock, do nothing “asset” that will implode, and all the efforts I personally made to go incognito and into hiding (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jameson_Lopp) will not help me escape from all the “BTC investors” I duped into buying BTC and “never selling”.

Like you @mohrt I have good instinct and see thru the BS going on in Crypto today. This instinct has served me very well in my 45 year career in finance. Many, many times what the crowd is thinking is WRONG and if you bet correctly, it makes a huge difference.
That's how I feel about both CSW and, by extension, BSV. I'm 100% convinced CSW created Bitcoin. Was it black and white? No. CSW is NOT a professional coder, and that is a PLUS not a minus.
CSW thought of unconventional ways to make Bitcoin work. He added together existing thoughts about digital money and came up with creative ways to make it all work - solved the Byzantine General problem with miner based POW etc. He got some help from professional coders; that may have worked on pieces of the code, without knowing the whole point of Bitcoin - CSW was smart enough to keep the "big picture" confidential and to himself.
Once some of the initial dev's semi-understood CSW/Satoshi's vision, that gave life to Bitcoin in the early years (so in that sense, CSW owe's some thanks to the first cyberpunks). But the cyberpunks started thinking of ways to get around "Gov't" - CSW saw what's happening and first tried to dissuade them from the Cyberpunk anti-state philosophy that resulted in players like Ross Ulbricht and Assange, and when that didn't work, he went incognito.
CSW/Satoshi would have been perfectly happy (that is until the block size debate in 2017 and the segwit BS) to remain anonymous. But, human nature being what it is, people were curious and the insatiable desire to "out Satoshi" culminated in 2015 with the Wired and Gizmodo articles that brought global awareness to CSW.
The BTC core guys - who knew CSW was Satoshi after the Gavin Andresen visit and corresponding signing by CSW - were hell-bent on discrediting CSW. That is because their idea of Bitcoin as digital gold (that they were successfully selling to the marketplace) was starting to gain momentum and all the early bitcoiners were getting rich. CSW/Satoshi was a THREAT to them at that point - just like @realDonaldTrump is a threat to the "Deep State".
Well, after those articles, CSW was forced to come out, especially in 2017 when it was clear the Core bois were out to permanently handicap/scuttle/neuter Bitcoin - by not raising the block size and adding in Segwit - which would allow them to create an L2 solution called Lightning - which they owned. CSW and other big blockers, including the BCH bois, couldn't stand by and see that happened, hence the BCH fork.
Then the BCH bois started thinking of ways to limit Bitcoin scaling and adding in things like Schnorrs, Mimblewimble, OPP_DSV, Avalanche etc.). Satoshi/CSW who had gone along with BCH until then, said 'enough is enough' and hence, with help from Calvin Ayre (we all owe much thanks to Calvin) BSV was born. This time CSW made sure BSV followed his pure version of bitcoin, and went on, with @nChainGlobal, to scale Bitcoin to the now unimaginable #Teranode level.
What about the COPA trial you say? As far as I am concerned the "trial" means SHIT and Mellor is another idiot, know-nothing judge, making a biased ruling.
Meanwhile the "retards" in BSV are standing strong and building some of the world's first real-usecase solutions built on the BSV protocol, @scryptplatform @twetchapp @Tokenized_com @UNISOT_ @handcashapp etc. etc. etc. (apologize to all the great BSV apps I'm not individually naming here). CSW and Calvin need a well-deserved break and let them have that, while the smartest, most determined, patient entrepreneurs that I've come across, that are working on the BSV platform do their thing.
In time, CSW will be proven to be Satoshi and there is no question in my mind that BSV will prevail completely. Let the BTC and all the shitcoins have their day in the sun with this bull run - who gives a flying fVck! #DotComm anyone???
Long term, there is only one Globally scaled, true Proof of Work blockchain, based on the original and completely....

Like you @mohrt I have good instinct and see thru the BS going on in Crypto today. This instinct has served me very well in my 45 year career in finance. Many, many times what the crowd is thinking is WRONG and if you bet correctly, it makes a huge difference.…

Well put - after thinking about this "trial" much, I'm coming to the same conclusion. Many were in BSV "temporarily" for the "highest possible pump". After all are there ANY other coins that have Satoshi Nakamoto him/herself (gotta be gender sensitive LOL) behind it??? Wow, buy Bitcoin at $50 again and ride up to $70,000 (as BTC has done)? Who wouldn't be seduced?
Well, all those guys are now throwing in the towel - their bags haven't pumped. The COPA trial was the "last straw" and their last best hope. Once that went "south" they hit their limit and quit. High profile examples are many. Again, 5D chess here, not just CSW playing that, rather the "universe" clearing out the riff raff.
After all, isn't that how it's always been? Look at any of the "great truths" in human history: Jews, Christians muslim followers of Mohammed - all were persecuted, and for many of them there NEVER was "final redemption". So, even those who are "true believers" like myself and many of you true BSV'rs", may never see a "final payoff". Frankly I don't care! It has been my honor and privilege to have "seen the truth" and recognised the greatness and genius of @Dr_CSWright as being the one and only Satoshi - in spite of ALL the dirt that's been thrown at discrediting CSW. And the trial? give me a break, you think one uninformed judges' two bit opinion matters??? Think again.

¡Francamente, no me importa!

COPA: You know longer have this laptop or paper copy?
SM: No
COPA: no emails or texts from 2008-9 mentioning this?
SM: No
COPA: Or CSW talking about digital currency generally?
SM: They were in person and verbal in my office. Having said that, there were 3-4 other people working in my office with whom he also had similar discussions. they have asked not to be mentioned.
COPA: The only evidence is you and Craig's accounts?
SM: Yes
COPA: Are you aware there are different accounts on how it was provided?
SM: Tell me more about it
COPA: He said it was a hard copy and you recall it as a USB.
SM: Maybe he had a hard copy, but he handed me a USB stick.
COPA: Have you seen this?
SM: Once
COPA: Is this document given to you in 2008?
SM: No
COPA: Mentioning Craig here. O'Hagan: "An eccentric guy, Wright had given Matthews a doc by Satoshi Nakamoto..." You said it wasn't signed by Satoshi though. So the O'Hagan account is wrong?
SM: I didn't tell Andrew that the doc said Satoshi. O'Hagan is an author. I can only assume he is assuming and attributing because everyone knows it now.
COPA: So O'Hagan says he got it then from you.
SM: He said what he said, but it wasn't me who said that.
COPA: Your account now is at odds with the story you gave O'Hagan and Wright's account.
SM: Andrew isn't accurate.
COPA: Also not corroborated with any docs.
SM: And inaccurate.
COPA: And now it is part of the big reveal plan.
SM: the big reveal was a Rob plan. He was working closely with O'Hagan. I wasn't closely involved.
COPA: So you didn't have involvement?
SM: It was discussed with Wright and Ayre and Wright's lawyer from Clayton Utz...
COPA: The story of you receiving the white paper before publication is a lie.
SM: It is true.
COPA: It's a lie
SM: I had to endure this sort of harassment [almost tearing up for a second] from CAH threatening me about coming to this court. I'm going to sit here and lie. It's the absolute truth.
COPA: It's a lie that CSW had digital currency plans in 2007, isn't it?
SM: He made a submission to Centrebet in early 2009. If I had accepted, it would have been the first app built on bitcoin. Immutable logging of the timestamp server.
COPA: You said he worked with you as a security advisor.
SM: on our security advisory board.
COPA: You describe a convo in MArch 2009 about $500. "I'll give you 50,000 bitcoin" conversation. It's a very odd story to have a colleague offering you something of no value for $500, isn't it?
SM: Yes. I remember the day vividly. When he asked for the money, I reached for my checkbook. Then he mentioned bitcoin and I closed my breifcase because I wasn't interested.
COPA: Why not ask a question? Like "is your system operating?"
SM: I knew it was operating. He told me it was in January [2009]
COPA: He was offering something of unknown value, and you didn't ask?
SM: Didn't care.
COPA: This story is used to support his claims including in interviews with COinGeek, haven't you?
SM: Many other times too, yes.
COPA: You rejected his logging idea?
SM: due to cost and timing.
COPA: You later took the view it was a blockchain system?
SM: Some portions of it. the canary honeypot part was actually implemented. The full immutable log system wasn't.
COPA: That's a generic decoy for security systems. It doesn't necessary denote special knowledge of bitcoin.
SM: But an immutable timestampe server does.
COPA: But another bit only you know or have spoken about.
SM: I did see a copy of the proposal in the Kleiman trial.
COPA: forensics experts debunked the authenticity of that document. Wright may have been discussing honeypot systems. He certainly didn't propose anything with blockchain.
SM: They were timestamp servers.
COPA: Your last year at Centrebet was late 2010 into 2011?
SM: Yes
COPA: You moved to UK and were working as lead something at Tyche?
SM: Yea, a tech provider to gambling companies.
COPA: Bodog?
SM: Yes
COPA: Ayre?
SM: Yes
COPA: Tyche wasn't just Rob McGrego...
