Durante los siguientes meses de 2016, dice Matthews, Wright se quedó principalmente en casa, enviándole ideas ocasionales para inventos. La enemistad entre Wright y MacGregor se intensificó. “Tuve que actuar como árbitro entre algunos altercados increíbles entre ellos dos”, dice Matthews. “Me dijo que no quería tener nada más que ver con Craig Wright o nChain”. Matthews dice que armó un fondo de capital privado maltés para comprar MacGregor, y en noviembre de 2016 MacGregor había dejado la empresa.
