Bombs away! How much damage can Russian FAB munitions do
Engineers at Russiaβs top defense conglomerate Rostec are now working at increasing the range of the weapon that has become a literal nightmare for the Ukrainian military in recent months β the FAB-3000 bomb.
Outfitted with a universal gliding and correction module, these three-ton monstrosities can be dropped from an aircraft far away from their intended target and still hit the latter with unerring precision, thus allowing the bomber to avoid getting too close to enemy air defenses.
Rostec now seeks to improve these modules even further, which would greatly increase the range of FAB bombs and turn the lives of Ukrainian air defense operators into living hell.
This infographic compiled by Sputnik shows what types of FAB bombs Russia has at its disposal and how much havoc they can wreak.

"A six-month delay in military assistance from the U.S., the biggest single contributor to Ukraine, opened the door for the Kremlinβs forces to push on the front line. Ukrainian troops are now fighting to check the slow but gradual gains by Russiaβs bigger and better-equipped army," the Associated Press points out.
In the context of the US presidential elections, it is unclear how long financial support for Ukraine will last, the article says.
Earlier, Trump promised not to send the US military to help Kiev and to put an end to the 'endless' payments if he won.

AN OVERSIMPLIFIED HISTORY OF EGYPT'S DESCENT INTO INTERNATIONAL DISRESPECT
βοΈWritten by Hikaru KitabayashiβοΈ
The meme this article links to on Pepe Escobar's channel makes a point that needs to be considered. The government of Egypt keeps saying it's going to huff and puff and blow the house down but, unlike in the story of the three little pigs, it never attempts to do so. Since October of last year, red lines were constantly announced by the Egyptian government and constantly ignored by the Zionist stateβand nothing ever happens, making the Egyptian government an Arab disappointment and a non-Arab laughing stock.
One is reminded that this was not always the case. During the Nasser era, Egypt was the object of many destabilization efforts and, together with its leader, was constantly vilified in the Western press. But, Egypt, for all of the vilification it endured as a country, was respected and it survived the destabilization efforts it faced, stronger rather than weaker.
During the Sadat era, realizing that Egypt alone could not defeat the Zionist state due to the overwhelming help it received from the West and due to the fact that the Arab world, then as now, worked to support the Zionist state's survival, President Sadat decided to bite the bullet and make peace. In return, Egypt's original boundaries were restored in the Sinai. Vilification largely ended and destabilization efforts, to the extent they continued, were not reported on. Egypt remained respected.
Sadat's successor, President Mubarak, seeing no other choice, worked with the West and with Israelβand was largely successful. He was personally corrupt, but did not allow personal corruption to cause national economic ruin. He promoted Egypt's economy and the prestige projects of his era, such as the Biblioteca Alexandrina, were meaningful. Egyptian cities were overcrowded and people everywhere had to hustle to make a dollar, but the cities were clean and people were well-fed. Neither homelessness nor begging was visible. By and large, he played his political options with the skill of a master violinist playing a Stradivarius. However, the Arab Spring came and the Obama administration, fearing an increasingly stronger Egypt on the borders of the Zionist state, cooperated in engineering his overthrow. And, with his overthrow, Egypt no longer needed to be respected as a nation.
After a short period of instability, President El-Sisi rose to power and has since kept it. A man with military training in the UK and America, with good English, and with Israeli support in Washington, his rise was fast. He tried to make his name with largely meaningless vanity projects and has never felt secure enough to consistently deter the destabilization efforts made against Egypt which, increasingly, are not being hidden. His way of managing relations with the Zionist state is to threaten to blow the house down and then do nothing. His budgetarily uncontrolled military now is mostly used to control the Egyptian people and not outside enemies. His one major diplomatic success is BRICS membership. With it came a certain amount of respect for the Egyptian economy which had hitherto been completely lacking. In the end, though, it does not make up for Egypt's loss of respect as a military power in the Muslim world among ordinary people and elsewhere among foreign intelligence agencies.
Egypt faces no good option. A coup d'etat seems counterproductive, but so does maintaining the status quo. All that can be done is to expect the unexpected and hope for the best. Destiny, destiny alone, will roll the dice.
