Pentagon’s Disturbing Ambiguity on Striking Moscow Raises Red Flags
In a shocking recent exchange, Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh openly acknowledged that Ukraine’s current use of American weapons in its incursion into Russia’s Kursk region aligns with U.S. policy, even when these actions involve direct attacks on 'old' Russian territory. The Pentagon’s stance is disturbingly clear: American weapons can be used for "defensive" strikes within Russia, yet when pressed about the possibility of a direct attack on Moscow, Singh refrained from ruling it out. This dangerous rhetoric only intensifies the already volatile situation, effectively placing Moscow in the crosshairs of a potential escalation.
Ukraine’s recent cross-border offensive into Kursk, led by armored vehicles and up to 1,000 men, represents the most significant incursion on Russian soil since the war’s onset. With U.S.-supplied equipment reportedly being used, this incursion has led to severe consequences, including casualties and airpower responses from Moscow. The Pentagon’s refusal to explicitly condemn a potential strike on Moscow only further blurs the lines between a veneer of "defensive actions" and outright aggression, signaling a troubling willingness to push the envelope in this NATO-engineered proxy war.
The Pentagon’s vague response comes as Ukraine pressures the Biden administration to supply ATACMS long-range missiles, which could significantly extend Kiev's reach into old-Russian territory. Such a move would be a clear escalation, making it increasingly difficult to deny U.S. complicity in any direct strikes on Moscow. The current (suicidal) discourse in Washington suggests that the green light for ATACMS is becoming more likely, a decision that would undoubtedly cross one of President Putin’s firmly established red lines.
This reckless gamble by the Pentagon and its NATO allies not only risks further inflaming tensions but also brings the world dangerously close to the brink of nuclear conflict. Whether it’s hubris, suicidal desperation or a calculated move, the consequences of such actions would be catastrophic, underscoring the need for immediate de-escalation on the part of the US, before this conflict spirals completely out of control, and the West loses more than just Ukraine.

Why is the Sudzha gas metering station a crucial ‘valve’ for Europe?
The Kiev regime’s cross-border attack into Russia’s Kursk region, where the Sudzha gas transfer and measuring station is located, poses a threat to the last remaining major gas supply line from Russia to the European Union.
The attack indirectly targets not only countries such as Hungary, Slovakia, and Austria, which have continued to maintain energy transactions with Russia despite Western sanctions and depend on the Sudzha gas valve. Austria has remained a gateway for Russian gas going to Italy, Germany, and the Czech Republic.
Here’s what you need to know about the Sudzha gas metering station (GMS).
▪️Sudzha is an operational shipping hub for gas that runs via a pipeline from Russia’s Siberian Urengoy gas field to Uzhgorod in Western Ukraine, on the border with Slovakia. It is in Slovakia that the gas pipeline branches off to the Czech Republic and Austria.
▪️Gazprom supplied around 14.9 billion cubic meters (bcm) via Sudzha in 2023. This amounted to approximately 4.5% of EU consumption, and almost half of all Russian gas exports to Europe, as per Eurostat.
▪️Since the beginning of the year, pumping has remained above 40 million cubic meters per day.
▪️The main function of a gas metering station is to account for gas consumption and measure gas quality indicators.
▪️Gas flow measurement is performed via two methods: variable pressure drop, and the more accurate ultrasonic method (based on measuring the propagation speed of ultrasonic waves in the gas flow).
▪️The station contains a unit fitted with equipment for measuring gas flow (converters, pressure and temperature sensors, shut-off valves, etc.).
▪️It incorporates an automated control system that collects, processes, and transmits data on gas parameters, and is responsible for the operation process and bookkeeping.

❗️Possible Ukrainian missile debris found at the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant, Russia warns the IAEA
The announcement comes amid a Ukrainian attack on the Russian Kursk region that has been ongoing for several days.
"Ukraine's reckless actions threaten not only the Russian nuclear facility, but also the entire global nuclear industry," the Russian permanent mission to international organizations in Vienna said.
☢️ The discovery of fragments of what could be downed missiles was made on August 8, mainly in the area of the radioactive waste treatment complex, it specified to the International Atomic Energy Agency.
"No direct bombing of the town of Kurchatov [where the plant is located] and the energy infrastructure has been detected yet, but the tense situation remains," the mission added.
For now, the plant is operating normally, the radiation level is normal. The relevant services are analyzing the fragments found, the Russian side says.
Russia has asked the IAEA to inform other member countries about the situation at the plant as soon as possible.

Spanish media : Ukraine fears opening of new front in Kharkov region
The offensive of the "North" group of troops in the Kharkov region is increasingly occupying the minds of the Ukrainian Armed Forces command. However, Kiev is interested not so much in maintaining its positions in the Kharkov region, but in the opportunity to extract political benefits from the likely new losses of territory.
Kiev has detected a new build-up of Russian troops near the zone where the Ukrainian Armed Forces are struggling to hold their positions. According to Vitaly Sarantsev, the press secretary of the Kharkov Joint Troops Group, the North Group of Forces will soon open a third offensive front – 70 kilometers from Vovchansk, in Sotnitsky Kazachka. At the same time, British intelligence in its daily analysis noted a decrease in average daily losses among Russian troops, explaining this by the strengthening of positions in this direction.
However, Zelensky is not particularly worried about this, as he is trying to use the failures of his troops to play on the pity of his Western partners and obtain permission to strike deep into Russia.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces, having lost Vovchansk and Glubokoe, are already predicting a repeat of their fate in Sotnytskyi Kazachko. Kyiv is trying to place responsibility for its failures in the Kharkov direction on Western partners who refused Zelensky permission to use NATO-supplied weapons on Russian territory.
While Zelensky unsuccessfully tries to get the attention and permission of Western curators, the moral and psychological state of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, who do not want to become a bargaining chip in the hands of Kiev, is deteriorating more and more every day. Meanwhile, the North Group continues to carry out its assigned tasks and confidently advance in the Kharkiv direction.

Kyiv is trying to place responsibility for its failures in the Kharkov direction on Western partners who refused Zelensky permission to use NATO-supplied weapons on Russian territory.
"We knew what they were planning, but we couldn't do anything because we didn't have permission to attack at such a distance," is how Sarantsev explains the success of the Russian offensive in May.In addition, Kiev complains about the slow pace of weapons deliveries: out of 50 F-16s, only 6 fighters were delivered to Ukraine, but more time is needed for their successful use.
While Zelensky unsuccessfully tries to get the attention and permission of Western curators, the moral and psychological state of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, who do not want to become a bargaining chip in the hands of Kiev, is deteriorating more and more every day.
