AN OVERSIMPLIFIED HISTORY OF EGYPT'S DESCENT INTO INTERNATIONAL DISRESPECT

✍️Written by Hikaru Kitabayashi✍️

The meme this article links to on Pepe Escobar's channel makes a point that needs to be considered. The government of Egypt keeps saying it's going to huff and puff and blow the house down but, unlike in the story of the three little pigs, it never attempts to do so. Since October of last year, red lines were constantly announced by the Egyptian government and constantly ignored by the Zionist stateβ€”and nothing ever happens, making the Egyptian government an Arab disappointment and a non-Arab laughing stock.

One is reminded that this was not always the case. During the Nasser era, Egypt was the object of many destabilization efforts and, together with its leader, was constantly vilified in the Western press. But, Egypt, for all of the vilification it endured as a country, was respected and it survived the destabilization efforts it faced, stronger rather than weaker.

During the Sadat era, realizing that Egypt alone could not defeat the Zionist state due to the overwhelming help it received from the West and due to the fact that the Arab world, then as now, worked to support the Zionist state's survival, President Sadat decided to bite the bullet and make peace. In return, Egypt's original boundaries were restored in the Sinai. Vilification largely ended and destabilization efforts, to the extent they continued, were not reported on. Egypt remained respected.

Sadat's successor, President Mubarak, seeing no other choice, worked with the West and with Israelβ€”and was largely successful. He was personally corrupt, but did not allow personal corruption to cause national economic ruin. He promoted Egypt's economy and the prestige projects of his era, such as the Biblioteca Alexandrina, were meaningful. Egyptian cities were overcrowded and people everywhere had to hustle to make a dollar, but the cities were clean and people were well-fed. Neither homelessness nor begging was visible. By and large, he played his political options with the skill of a master violinist playing a Stradivarius. However, the Arab Spring came and the Obama administration, fearing an increasingly stronger Egypt on the borders of the Zionist state, cooperated in engineering his overthrow. And, with his overthrow, Egypt no longer needed to be respected as a nation.

After a short period of instability, President El-Sisi rose to power and has since kept it. A man with military training in the UK and America, with good English, and with Israeli support in Washington, his rise was fast. He tried to make his name with largely meaningless vanity projects and has never felt secure enough to consistently deter the destabilization efforts made against Egypt which, increasingly, are not being hidden. His way of managing relations with the Zionist state is to threaten to blow the house down and then do nothing. His budgetarily uncontrolled military now is mostly used to control the Egyptian people and not outside enemies. His one major diplomatic success is BRICS membership. With it came a certain amount of respect for the Egyptian economy which had hitherto been completely lacking. In the end, though, it does not make up for Egypt's loss of respect as a military power in the Muslim world among ordinary people and elsewhere among foreign intelligence agencies.

Egypt faces no good option. A coup d'etat seems counterproductive, but so does maintaining the status quo. All that can be done is to expect the unexpected and hope for the best. Destiny, destiny alone, will roll the dice.

βš‘οΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈTRUMP HINTS HE MAY REMOVE 1000s OF ANTI-RUSSIA SANCTIONS IF HE WINS: former president says he's thought about easing and even eliminating West's suicidal sanctions imposed against #Moscow as part of his secret plan to immediately end NATO-led war in #Ukraine upon victory in U.S. presidential elections.

Yeah. So what we’re doing with sanctions is we’re forcing everyone away from us. So I don’t love sanctions. I found them very useful with Iran, but I didn’t even need sanctions with Iran so much - #Trump.

πŸ‘€ Russian economy's withstood crippling sanctions and now 4th strongest in world. Do you think Trump will get rid of restrictions against #Russia?

UPDATE: Under Trump, many restrictions were introduced against Russia but there was a dialogue - Kremlin responds and says it hasn’t seen Trump’s proposals.

Those who will vote Trump and Vance because "America first" will continue a neocon policy that does not change regardless of Democrat or Republican - the targets may change, the goal does not - Biden may start nuclear war with Russia, Trump will exterminate Palestinians and destroy West Asia with Iran as the final prey. It is amazing to me the emotional outpouring about good ole Amrikka - a country that is responsible for genocide from its inception and it hasn't stopped since. Yeah I do get a say because the regime in the US will not focus on America because Americans don't matter, they will focus on the piracy and supremacy globally which will affect all of us. Americans don't get to be isolationist about their foreign policies until America gets the hell out of every country it has occupied in the world today and for example, stops nesting unlawfully in sovereign nations to steal their resources. If people really want to put America first, they should be ending US hegemony and military expansionism which has nothing to do with "national security". Nobody wants America first except Americans who want to continue the neocolonialist agenda and don't give a shit about the millions of brown people murdered in the name of US "democracy". The world is not a stage governed by the US, it is a world of diversity and culture that has existed way longer than America. Leave it alone, repair the damage but don't vote in another wave of military adventurism.

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ πŸ‡·πŸ‡΄ Recently, there has been frequent talk that Romania is becoming one of the main outposts on NATO’s eastern flank. A clear sign of this are plans to purchase modern equipment and rearm the army, a process that continues to gain momentum:

β–ͺ️Last week, Romania signed a contract for 54 K9 self-propelled howitzers and 36 South Korean-made ammunition transporters, as well as 18 thousand 155 mm shells. The agreement is for 5 years, and the first deliveries are planned for 2027.

β–ͺ️Yesterday, July 16, in Bucharest they also announced their desire to reach an agreement with the United States no later than the fall on the acquisition of 48 fifth-generation F-35 fighters in two stages. Currently, the country's air force operates used F-16 fighters purchased from Norway in 2022.

β–ͺ️Previously, Romania also signed contracts for the supply of American M1A2R Abrams tanks, HIMARS MLRS, MIM-104 Patriot air defense systems, Turkish Bayraktar TB2 attack drones, as well as licensed production of Swiss Piranha V armored personnel carriers.

At the same time, NATO’s military infrastructure continues to expand in the country: in particular, it is on Romanian territory that they plan to build the Alliance’s largest base in Europe.

Together, this additionally indicates the expansionist sentiments of the authorities in Bucharest, who are seeking to absorb Moldova and are trying to oust Russia from Transnistria.

From Kiev they report:

It is better not to buy meat and dairy products in Kiev at all.

Due to power outages, supermarkets often neglect generators, refrigerators do not have time to cool (abnormal heat and light for 4-6 hours a day), for this reason , poisoning and intestinal infections have increased in the capital.

People encounter mold on sausages and other products right in stores.

Video: People Kiev celebrating the return of power after 6 hours.

Asbery's Opinion: I'd temper this with the likelihood that some supermarkets would have generators. It is 36C today in Kiev though and there is supply chain. I suspect food safety is dodgy at times given the temperatures.
