Dear Participants, one of the representatives of summer camps has reached out us and we had a long conversation about WHY Summer Camp Program is not good. It happened to be that you are paid 1200-1500$ for 7 weeks that does not really cover expenses as participants from Uzbekistan are willing to spend about 3000$ (flights,pocket money, program fee and agency fee)
Apart from this, A representative said that this is his FIRST TIME sending students by SUmmer Camp program‼️

1. универ не подтвердил повышение контракта, но раздумывают над этим, возможно повысят сумму контракта на 10% от текущей суммы в следующем году.
2. студенты имеют возможность оплачивать за контракт ежемесячно, при условии, что имеют низкий доход. За подробностями- обращаться в finance department.
3. разрабатывают новый intranet, с упором на learning materials.
4. В новом здании универа, будут иметься дополнительные классы для проведения семинаров и альтернативы green room

As you may know, this Friday, an official speech and answers were delivered by the honorable University's Rector - Komiljon Karimov during his Annual Meeting with Course Representatives. Here are the main takeaways from this event:
1. Contract fee may increase next year. However, the Rector stated that the University will try to keep that increase within a 10% range.
2. The University did not cancel the Contract Late Payment (Monthly Payment of contract). However, the Rector stated that the students would now have to prove that they are in the actual need of that option (due to their financial circumstances). For more information, students should refer to the Finance Department.
3. New building which is being build opposite the back entrance (next to the Institute of Oriental Studies) is expected to be finished by February 2020. As stated by the Rector, the building will hold both the rooms for classes and the additional space for socialising.
4. Regarding the attendance policy, students now need to be present on the University's premises for at least 3 hours during the working days. However, as further clarified, days on which students do not have officially scheduled classes do not count as working days. The most important is to attend your classes and make attendance. In case of an absence for 5 consecutive days without being present for at least 3 hours, students will receive Disciplinary Points.
5. Rector notified the students that the University has almost completed its process of re-validation and highlighted the significance of this event.
6. Rector informed the students that currently there are exchange programmes with the University of Westminster in the UK for students of WIUT. While studying in the UK, the tuition fees for exchange students will stay the same as in WIUT campus (around 15 million for one semester), however, they will have to cover their accomodation costs and living expenses themselves. At the moment, only BA students are eligible for exchange programme without losing a year.
7. Since Westminster International University in Tashkent is a secular institution (religion- and politcs- free), the request for prayer rooms within its premises was denied.
8. CPFS Entrance may be opened to the University's students in the near future for exit only, provided there are no consequent problems with parking.
9. Entrance by ID Cards will not be brought back. However, the Rector stated the University will improve its fingerprint scanning system.
10. The Internet speed was further imroved through the installation of additional routers.

In the past, participants often received a federal tax return, but that will not necessarily be the case for 2019 tax returns. The new tax law has increased the portion of income that is taxable, which will reduce the possible tax refund. However, this new tax law does not affect you receiving a state refund, if applicable. This means that you will most likely receive some money from your state tax return, but not the federal tax return. In order to be eligible for a state refund and to complete a state tax return, you first need to file a federal tax return.
Employers start sending out W-2s in January. Most participants will receive them either directly from their employers or from Spirit sometime between the end of January and early March. The W-2 summarizes your 2019 income and taxes paid and is an important first step in filing your U.S. tax return. You will use this information to file a federal tax return (US 1040-NR) and possibly a state tax return as well.
Remember that filing a tax return is now a legal requirement and an important final step to ensure that your program ends in good standing. Taxes are due April 15, 2020.
