» Hundo P: This means 100%. That's it. Use it instead of "of course" or "definitely."
» Kk: Legend has it kk originated in online gaming forums as an abbreviation for "okay, cool," except the two Ks refer to the more informal "k, kewl." Put it together, and it usually signals "messaged received," or "gotcha."
» Lit: "Lit" can mean cool — especially when it comes to parties — but some people also use it as a synonym for drunk or high. Moms, you've been warned.
» RT: You don't have to be on Twitter to use this one. It literally stands for retweet, but RT in the slang sense can refer to anything you agree with, 140 characters or more.
» Ship: Do you just know that two people belong together? Well, you're by definition "shipping" them. The word is short for "relationship," but it's used as a verb. The original OTP that allegedly inspired the phrase dates way back though: Fox Mulder and Dana Scully of the '90s series The X-Files.
» Stan: Here's another "new" word that predates today's teens. Eminem rapped the song "Stan" in 2000 about an obsessed fictional follower. The name is actually kind of a portmanteau of "stalker" and "fan," and it now describes worshippers of any celeb.
» Snatched: If you already know the trendy phrase "on fleek," kudos to you. You can use the even trendier "snatched" in the same way, basically to describe things (especially style) as cool or on point.
» Suh: Combine "sup" with "huh" and you get "suh." Yeah, it's pretty stupid, but what else do you expect from a word that gets its start in a viral video?
» Turnt: Turnt can mean drunk, but don't ground anyone just yet. It can also describe a state of general excitement or craziness.
» Woke: While it's sometimes used in a sarcastic sense, getting called "woke" is usually a compliment. It means you're knowledgeable, sympathetic, and aware, especially when it comes to contentious debates around race and gender.
» Yass: This one is best expressed "YASS!" and maybe even with a few extra S's — for added emphasis. That said, this one's pretty simple: It simply means "yes!" albeit in a more enthusiastic (and slightly more annoying) way.
» JOMO: Joy of missing out.
» FOMO: Fear of missing out.

It's midnight.
There's thick fog.
You're in the countryside.
There's a cold feel to the place.
#settings #prompt
Once you have the outline for your setting, imagine yourself there. Close your eyes if it helps (after you've read the following...)
- What do you see? For example, what buildings or natural formations? Are there any people? Animals, plants?
- What do you hear? Smell? What textures can you feel? Can you taste anything? Use any or all of your senses.
- Zoom in, make a note of details.
At this point, write as much as you like, but later, edit ruthlessly. Too much description can be boring!

» Write about the sun as though you love it.
» Then write about it as though you hate it.
You can write a poem. Try replacing sun with rain ;)
You can try this writing exercise on anything around you to open up your thoughts.
Challenge your writer's block!

Free writing in 3 steps
1. Completely clear your head. Take a deep breathe and relax.
2. Don’t concern yourself with the rules of grammar. (Very important)
3. Write your heart out for 10 minutes.
The free writing procedure
» Set a fixed time for writing.
» The recommended times are 5, 10, or 15 minutes.
» Once the time is completed stop writing.
» After you are done go back and read the writing slowly. As you read, highlight some of the key points. These points may be used for later topics.
Helpful #tips
» Once you start the time it’s time to write!
» Even if you have to write, “ I have no idea what I am typing”, get the thought out.
» As time goes on you will become better at shaping the X minutes into a single idea.
» Remember to ignore spelling and grammar mistakes.
» Set a schedule for yourself, daily or weekly are two good examples.
The point here is to free your mind, not to write the next epic odyssey.

Hey writers,
I feel like I am using many 'if's in my book. Could you suggest few more alternatives to 'if'. Any kind of suggestions are welcomed.
Thank you

See the image and write a short story with a max. of 400 words. Add an apt title and describe the image in the form of a story based on your own thoughts.
If those three figures in the image were the main characters of your story, think of:
- why they are here at this place?
- what are the character traits?
- why they three are together?
- what they are talking about?
- what role as main characters they play in your story?
A writeup a day keeps your bogggling writer-blocks away!

How Do I Write A Death Scene?
Step outside your comfort zone to perfect the death scenes.
1. Don’t be afraid to get gruesome
2. Have them a sacrifice themselves
3. Throw in a red herring
4. Duel it out
5. Give the Big Bad character their comeuppance
6. A death with dignity
7. Make an example of them
8. Give your character a second chance
Stories are built on emotions and death portray and connects people on that emotional level. Whatever death scene you are writing, it must make sense for reader. [Read More]
