"Too many aspects of modern life have turned into their own contrary. This makes me think of the three witches in William Shakespeare´s Macbeth with their mantra “foul is fair”: Many medicines that are heavily pro- moted these days are actually poisons, they are not “fair” but “foul”. And many of these poisons we find everywhere, in politics, in economy, in culture. I use the word “apocalyptic” with some black humour. We are experiencing an absurd theatre, a soap opera that fits fine with Eugene Ionesco´s absurd play Rhinoceros where some people turn into rhinos - and the others do not know how to behave with these many rhinos - to love them, to hate them, to fight them or to surrender. And all of us see today every day dozens or hundreds of these rhinoceros creatures with masks that are more “foul” than “fair” as they cause additional health problems. We live in a poisonous era - and probably the best and only way to fight this situation is to use a stronger poison: our own art. I like the Charles Manson song Sick City - maybe right now could be the perfect moment for a very special apocalyptic Allerseelen cover version. This whole dystopic Corona soap opera also reminds me of the Bertolt Brecht play Arturo Ui in which Third Reich politicians appear and behave like Chicago gangsters. But while in Arturo Ui the gangsters are dealing with fruits and vegetables, the current Corona banksters and gangsters deal with poisons, with panic and paranoia. There is also a recent Allerseelen song dealing with this situation: Untergangster. My hope is that these banksters and gangsters soon start fighting and killing each other with their own weapons."
