🇷🇴 #Romania - 🇷🇺 #Russia: A Russian Geran-2 drone struck an apartment building in the city of Galați earlier this morning during a wave of drone attacks towards Ukrainian cities.

Two people were reportedly injured in the incident and taken to hospital, with the impact followed by an explosion and a fire breaking out inside an apartment on the 10th floor of the building.

Romania’s Ministry of Defence (MApN) later stated that despite two F-16 fighter jets and a military helicopter tracking the drone when it passed towards the Romanian border, it eventually "disappeared" from radar. The ministry added on later that the drone could have been shot down, but officials allegedly "chose not to" intercept it in order to avoid causing further damage during the interception process.
