Biden e Netanyahu si sono sentiti per telefono. Queste le richieste del presidente americano:
- Israele ha diritto all'autodifesa "in modo coerente con il diritto internazionale umanitario" (un modo elegante per dire che non lo sta facendo)
- È necessario aumentare “immediatamente e in modo significativo” il flusso di aiuti umanitari a Gaza
- Sono in corso sforzi per recuperare gli ostaggi, compresi gli americani

I testimoni hanno detto che i carri armati sono stati visti nel distretto di Zaytun.
"Hanno tagliato la strada Salah al Din e stanno sparando a qualsiasi veicolo cerchi di percorrerla", ha detto un residente.
