Anni fa, alcune menti scaltre pensarono che utilizzare l'olio di palma per produrre biodiesel sarebbe stato un bene per il pianeta, in quanto avrebbe evitato le emissioni di anidride carbonica dei combustibili fossili.

Da allora abbiamo conosciuto la catastrofe ambientale che ne è derivata.

Ora la situazione si complica. Presumibilmente l'HVO potrebbe essere prodotto utilizzando l'olio esausto, ma (sorpresa, sorpresa) operatori disonesti [secondo quanto riportato dalla BBC] stanno apparentemente utilizzando l'olio di palma vergine!

Perché qualcuno dovrebbe sorprendersi? Se si crea un mercato sovvenzionato e artificiale per qualcosa, la gente cercherà di imbrogliare.
