🔺EU officials are contemplating the possibility of depriving Budapest of its voting rights, citing concerns over Hungary’s capacity to obstruct key decisions such as bankrolling Ukraine's military. The EU Council is scheduled to hold a hearing on May 27 concerning this potential suspension.
🔺Meanwhile Hungary is seeking a closer cooperation with the Organization of Turkic States (OTS). Following the informal summit of the OTS which Budapest hosted on Tuesday and Wednesday this week, Péter Szijjártó, Hungary's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, recalled that his country joined the organization as an observer seven years ago and that although the world has changed a lot since then, these changes have only further reinforced the importance of cooperation with the Turkic states. He pointed out that Europe is facing serious challenges in the areas of security, the economy, and energy supply, but thanks to its cooperation with the Turkic states, Hungary has been able to find answers to these difficulties more easily.
“We have also contributed to this by doubling our trade with the Turkic states, and as a result of the significant infrastructure developments that have taken place in the Turkic states, the transport time between Europe and China will be reduced by approximately one week (...) Hungary has taken advantage of the fact that the economic growth of the Turkic states has not stalled,” he emphasized.
As an example, he mentioned that Hungary's and Turkey's largest railway construction companies have formed a strategic alliance, Hungarian pharmaceutical companies will soon begin production in Azerbaijan. He also said that an industrial park had been set up in Uzbekistan specifically for Hungarian companies, and a hydroelectric power plant was being built in Kyrgyzstan with Hungarian participation. Péter Szijjártó then pointed out that Hungary's energy supply would not be secure today without the Turkic states, as the majority of natural gas reaching Hungary is already transported via the Turkish Stream pipeline.
The region represented by the Turkic States has become the world's third largest source of oil and natural gas, so Hungary's cooperation with these countries is of enormous importance in terms of the country's energy supply, he said.

GIORNO DI LIBERAZIONE PER LE AUTO A BENZINA
Il Senato USA ha votato 51-44 per abolire il mandato della California che impone veicoli elettrici (EV), un vero “Liberation Day” per gli elettori di Trump, che firmerà la risoluzione. La Camera aveva già votato 246-164 per revocare la deroga federale che autorizzava il mandato EV della California, utilizzando il Congressional Review Act del 1996. La normativa californiana richiede che il 35% delle vendite di auto nel 2026 sia di veicoli a “zero emissioni”, salendo al 68% nel 2030 e al 100% nel 2035. Sebbene il Clean Air Act consenta alla California di fissare standard di emissioni, l’EPA sotto Biden aveva concesso una deroga, nonostante le emissioni di CO2 delle auto a benzina non contribuiscano allo smog. Altri stati hanno adottato regole simili, ma nel 2023 gli EV rappresentavano solo il 13% delle vendite in California, l’8% in Massachusetts e il 6% a New York. I produttori avvertono che i mandati ridurrebbero la produzione di auto a benzina, aumentando i prezzi per compensare le perdite sugli EV e causando tagli di posti di lavoro, come i 11.600 persi in Michigan negli ultimi due anni. La senatrice democratica del Michigan, Elissa Slotkin, ha appoggiato i repubblicani per proteggere l’industria automobilistica locale. Il governatore Newsom intende fare causa, ma il CRA limita la revisione giudiziaria. Con ambizioni presidenziali per il 2028, Newsom potrebbe riconsiderare la sua posizione per evitare un fiasco politico in stati chiave come il Michigan.

A major electricity outage hit the Alpes-Maritimes region in southern France on Saturday, including Cannes which is hosting its annual film festival. According to French police the black out may have been caused by an arson attack. Talking about outages, X/Twitter and Facebook are currently down. X is probably suffering the after-effects of a mass outage that took place on Thursday when a fire broke out at a data centre in Hillsboro in US’ Oregon.

Portare un paese in guerra vuole dire distruggerlo.
Non si distrugge solo il nemico ma si viene anche distrutti da esso.
Ma la distruzione come dinamica dell'agire politico ad un certo punto, prima del collasso, ritorna all'interno del paese stesso.
Gli ucraini si stanno rivoltando alla tirannia nazista che si sono fatti imporre con il colpo di stato del 2014.
Risalire alle colpe, nel singolo caso come questo, è del tutto futile.
In un modo o in un altro è colpa di quasi tutti, ovvero tutti coloro che come pecore hanno accettato la tirannia in silenzio o peggio l'hanno aiutata allineansdosi.
Picchiare i reclutatori a guerra persa, con 11 anni di ritardo e un milione di cittadini ormai sottoterra è fuori tempo massimo.
Il disastro s'è ormai già consumato.
