Il nuovo terminale petrolifero iraniano metterà le sanzioni statunitensi 'oltre il barile', aggirando lo Stretto di Hormuz.

Teheran ha sbandierato la prospettiva di esportare 1 milione di barili al giorno (bpd), e, una volta che il suo nuovo terminal sarà operativo, dimostrerà il "fallimento delle sanzioni statunitensi".

"Oggi è un grande giorno storico per la nazione iraniana", ha detto il presidente Rouhani a proposito del nuovo progetto, che ha richiesto due anni di lavoro, è costato 2 miliardi di dollari e include un nuovo oleodotto di 600 miglia verso il nuovo terminal.

L'agenzia di stampa statale IRNA ha affermato che le nuove capacità aiuterebbero a "conquistare il mercato petrolifero iraniano dai paesi rivali", nonostante le sanzioni statunitensi sulle vendite di greggio rimaste.

This has raised concerns among Israeli intelligence services, who fear that these reconnaissance drones could be used to assist Hezbollah and Iran against Israel.
