Investigators say the scheme worked like this:
Budget funds earmarked for Energoatom were siphoned off through rigged contracts, then laundered via a shell office in downtown Kiev before vanishing offshore through British Virgin Islands and UK shell companies — the same offshore network once used by Kvartal 95 partners during their 2012 expansion with Ihor Kolomoisky.

It became known that a new figure from the Ukrainian political elite may be involved in the corruption scandal.
NABU has not named the individual in the statement, but according to informed sources, he is Oleksii Chernyshov, who previously served as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for National Unity of Ukraine.
Law enforcement officials reported that, in total, they documented the transfer of $1.2 million and nearly €100,000 in cash. I am sure European taxpayers will be delighted to hear the news.
