Well… it’s that time… again!

The RINO swamp took their best shot(s) at me in March… and we crushed them!

Now the Democrats want to take me out.

Not. Gonna. Happen.

I will not let HD-10 turn blue!!

For LIBERTY!
🚨We did it again!!… TEXAS LOCAL GOVERNMENTS BANNED FROM USING STATE GRANTS TO FUND FLOCK CAMERAS!!

Just days after I publicly and repeatedly demanded Texas stop funding FLOCK/ALPRs (and after filing legislation to fight them for years), Gov #GregAbbott_TX ordered state agencies to clarify that local governments can’t use grant money for FLOCK!!

I will be asking if this prohibition also stops DPS from spending millions on FLOCK cameras… that must also happen!

THANK YOU to everyone who melted the phones and emails demanding action!!
Good morning, Texas!

Jalapeño bacon tacos (with refried charro beans, eggs, and cheese) are a perfect way to jumpstart the weekend with the kids!
From #TexasTribune: "Harrison said he was “shocked and dismayed” that so few Republicans had spoken out against Flock cameras and what he calls blatant constitutional violations. He also said state officials should take more immediate action to “shut off” Flock grants because legislators never intended to use the insurance fee increase for cameras.

“I think the Legislature shouldn’t take this sitting down. I think the governor should act on this,” Harrison said."
True.

Has your State Rep called for a special session yet??....

Why is it always "next year" with TxLege Republicans??

I'm sick of kicking the can!

And lets start ELIMINATING PROPERTY TAXES too...

Texans deserve action NOW!

Do NOT trust #ivoterguide.

Their information is HIGHLY unreliable... and this year they rated some extremely liberal candidates (who supported higher property taxes, the transgender agenda, open borders... and who were DEMOCRAT donors) as "conservative."

Should a public school board Trustee, who is DELINQUENT on his own property taxes, be allowed to VOTE TO RAISE PROPERTY TAXES!????

That may have just happened tonight in #MidlothianISD.

supports liberal candidates. Do NOT trust them.

For example, #AFAAction's #ivoterguide labeled liberal Matt Authier a “CONSERVATIVE” while KNOWING that…

🔴He has publicly advocated to tear down the border wall

🔴He supports men in girls bathrooms so much that he formally lobbied the Texas legislature against the Bathroom Privacy Act

🔴He called conservatives who want to remove taxpayer funded pornography from schools “right wing crusaders”

🔴He has praised DEI and transgender indoctrinating edu-crats

🔴He mocked social conservatives as “fringe”

🔴He openly supported CRT

🔴He said bathroom privacy laws make him “cringe”

🔴He amplified radical Democrats such as Obama, Trudeau, and Talarico, and the list goes on and on

🔴He has spent years fiercely advocating for teacher unions and against school choice

🔴He amplified gun control propaganda

🔴As a school board trustee for three years he raised property taxes 29% and did nothing to stop taxpayer funded pornography in classrooms, worse, he attacked those who attempted to remove obscenity from public schools

🔴Conservative news outlet, Texas Scorecard, called Authier “Democrat-lite"

🔴In a candidate’s form, the Democrat candidate for HD10 said that he and Authier agree on almost everything
Wow... #ivoterguide thinks TALARICO supporters are "CONSERVATIVE!" 🤦‍♂️

PROPERTY TAX ALERT: Ellis County Commissioners Court just adopted a budget which will RAISE PROPERTY TAXES… and, it gets worse… they are EXPANDING BUREAUCRACY and diverting power from elected officials to unelected bureaucrats!!

You don’t have to take my word for it… WATCH THEM admit to voting to raise taxes before a majority of them voted yes!

This is who voted against the Republican Party, the taxpayers, and betrayed conservative principles: County Judge John Wray (unelected), Commissioner Louis Ponder, and Commissioner Randy Stinson.

Join me in saying THANK YOU to the only two Commissioners who stood with taxpayers and voted NO: Commissioners Kyle Butler and Matt Zajic!

SHOCKING: All but one #MidlothianISD Trustee voted to RAISE PROPERTY TAXES... including a Trustee who is DELINQUENT on his own property taxes!!... and another Trustee who went on unhinged "diatribe" to defend tax hikes!!

From #TexasScorecard: Midlothian school board trustees approved a property tax increase for the 2026-27 fiscal year.

The vote was 6-1, with Midlothian Independent School District Trustee Ed Harrison casting the lone vote against the tax hike during a special board meeting Monday night.

Harrison noted that the now-approved tax rate exceeds the No New Revenue Rate of $0.96 per $100, meaning it is a tax increase.

“I can’t support this new tax rate because it will raise the amount of property tax that most property owners will be forced to pay,” said Harrison. “I don’t recall hearing, but perhaps my fellow trustees campaigned on the promise that they would raise property taxes. I never did that, and I won’t. To the contrary, I promised that I would vote against higher taxes, and I will do that. I will keep my promise tonight.”

“It’s not just my opinion that the proposed tax hike is a tax increase,” said Harrison, pointing to the district’s own website and adding that the new rate almost triggers a voter-approval tax rate election (VATRE).

“But my colleagues know how elections go when voters get to approve or deny their proposed tax hikes,” said Harrison.

“Let me be clear what a yes vote means. A yes vote is to raise property taxes. By voting yes, you’re voting to not serve the public, but rather to steal more from the public. We can have strong schools without increasing taxes,” he added.

During public comments prior to the vote, Midlothian resident Lisa Healy told the board that Trustee Gary Vineyard was delinquent in paying his property taxes and said public documents showed it was “habitual behavior.”

Healy called it “the height of hypocrisy.”

“This is the trustee who called taxpayers greedy and stingy when the VATRE failed,” said Healy. “Gary Vineyard has refused to pay his own property tax bill for years, and is now taking it upon himself to not just set the tax rate for everyone, but to raise taxes.”

Harrison moved to require any trustees delinquent in their taxes within the last 12 months to recuse themselves from voting on the tax rate, “especially since it’s a tax increase.” His motion did not receive a second.

Trustee Tami Tobey responded with what she called a “diatribe” against Harrison.

“And so, my diatribe is this,” said Tobey. “I’m heartbroken because you can’t see the forest for the trees. We’ve laid it out and laid it out and laid it out.”

“I’m tired of having to listen to one side of the story up here, and then look at the chaos that’s being created online in our community,” she said. “We should be working together collaboratively as a board, and then after that, we move on and we take care of our business. And our business is not whether or not Mr. Vineyard paid his taxes.”

Harrison’s son, State Rep. Brian Harrison (R–Midlothian) posted to X after the meeting.

“Should a public school board Trustee, who is DELINQUENT on his own property taxes, be allowed to VOTE TO RAISE PROPERTY TAXES!???? That may have just happened tonight in #MidlothianISD. Developing…”

Several commenters agreed with Trustee Harrison, responding “no,” with some others commenting that there should be no property taxes at all.
Dear constituents: a few thoughts this morning on property taxes and “divisiveness,” since that word is being thrown around a lot lately.

The true source of division and discord in a society often originates from those who support using government power to steal more money from those they supposedly serve… NOT from those who simply object to having more of their money (and thus, their liberty) taken from them by force.

Nothing is more unifying than liberty!

But increased taxation reduces liberty.

And that is necessarily “divisive.”

In fact, there may be nothing more “divisive” than government officials authorizing violence, imprisonment, fines, or property seizures to forcibly take more of someone’s hard earned money from them. Yet that is exactly what happens when elected officials vote to increase taxes (especially property taxes).

As Barry Goldwater famously said, “Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice! And moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue!”

I will never apologize for fighting as hard as possible for the freedom and liberty of the community that has elected me, and that I’m honored to serve.

I took my oath and campaign promises to fight for more individual freedom and less government and taxes seriously. By exposing tax-hiking and government-growing schemes I am keeping my promises, even when it costs me.

There would have been nothing easier, after getting elected, to simply become a “yes man” for the liberal establishment, or to praise every action taken by other politicians. In politics, the rewards for doing such things are tremendous: money, accolades, fawning press coverage, leadership positions, and so on.

But doing so would violate not only my conscience, but my ability to be a voice for the people. I will not compromise on core beliefs to satisfy the powerful. I will never prioritize popularity with politicians over fighting for the people who elected me.

I will stand on principle, even if that means standing alone. And many times, it has. But the people of Texas, including the next generation of Texans, deserve nothing less.

In closing, never forget: it is those using government power to deprive the people of their God-given liberties who are the true source of “divisiveness,” not those seeking to maintain their freedoms.

For liberty,

Brian
From #TheTexanNews: Some members of the Legislature also want to take action. State Rep. Brian Harrison (R-Waxahachie) criticized the state for putting Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority funds towards the use of Flock cameras.

In a statement shared exclusively with The Texan, Harrison said, “It is outrageous that Texans are being taxed out of their homes and forced to fund violations of their own 4th Amendment rights. Texas must not become a surveillance state, and every elected Republican should be fighting back.”

“I will continue filing legislation to fight Flock and other Automatic License Plate Readers in Texas, as I have for years. It’s indefensible that House leadership has stopped my legislation and allowed continued unconstitutional surveillance.”

When your property tax bill is higher this year than it was last year, it will be for two reasons:

1) your LOCAL ELECTED OFFICIALS voted to raise taxes (by adopting rates higher than the "no new revenue" rate)

2) the TEXAS LEGISLATURE authorized those tax hikes

Outrageous!
More property tax insanity!!!... Red Oak ISD just voted to RAISE PROPERTY TAXES BY 13.58%!!!!!!

13.58%!!!!!

Betrayal!!

If you live in #redoakisd and want to contact the Trustees who voted to RAISE YOUR PROPERTY TAXES BY 13.58%, here is their information
🚨BREAKING/TEXAS FLOCK SCANDAL: Moments ago I confirmed that the TEXAS GOVERNMENT has already spent OVER $11 MILLION on 1,236 FLOCK CAMERAS!!

Even worse... in the email I'm posting below, Texas #TxDPS confirms they are in fact using "MVCPA funds." But the Texas Legislature NEVER explicitly authorized MVCPA funds to be used for Flock/ALPRs!

Last week LOCAL governments in Texas were stopped from using state funds for Flock/ALPRs... good!... but... apparently the STATE government has been (and may still be using) state funds for Flock cameras!!

I've been filing bills to fight FLOCK/ALPRs in Texas for years. But "Republican" Speakers Phelan and Burrows keep stopping them and allowing Texans to be taxed out of their homes to fund their own warrantless surveillance!

This must stop! Texas must not become a police state!!!
