You're welcome, Texas! This is why the establishment hates me...

From #chron: On Friday morning, Texas Rep. Brian Harrison (R-Midlothian) posted screenshots to X and Facebook of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Archive, a special collection at the University of North Texas' libraries. The screenshots show the landing page for the LGBTQ+ Archive, a project dedicated to documenting "the history and culture of the LGBTQ communities in the South and the Southwest." Harrison wrote that by hosting the collection, UNT and the State of Texas were "promoting transgenderism."

"This is a taxpayer-funded, official website of the government of Texas... hosting an 'LGBTQ ARCHIVE'... and bragging about having the 'largest collection of LGBTQ history in north Texas, with over 600 linear feet of materials,'" Harrison wrote on X. "My constituents are being taxed out of their homes... and their money is being used to promote TRANSGENDER INDOCTRINATION!!!!"

On Saturday morning, Harrison posted again. The webpage for the archive, Harrison said, had been taken down after his post. A link to a page about the LGBTQ+ Archive now displays a message that says "the page you are looking for doesn't appear to exist."

"We did it again!!… My X feed continues doing more oversight than all the rest of TxLege… combined!!" Harrison posted. "[UNT] must end the program, not just a website."

In a statement, Harrison hailed the website's removal.
"UNT's LGBTQ library archive is further proof Texans are still being taxed out of their homes and forced to fund leftist indoctrination," Harrison said. "The purpose of taxpayer funded higher education in Texas is to train the workforce of tomorrow and strengthen our economy. If someone wants to study transgender literature, fine, but do it with your own damn money."

Harrison, a hard-right firebrand with a penchant for posting, has made something of a crusade out of rooting out references to LGBTQ+ people or resources for LGBTQ+ students at Texas colleges. Last year, Harrison went "undercover" to an event about transgender healthcare access on the University of Texas' campus, hosted by the school's Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies Department. He then blasted out pictures of materials at the event to his followers.

But Harrison's biggest victory was when he posted a video recorded by a Texas A&M student objecting to a lesson in a children's literature class about a book featuring a non-binary character. The student questioned whether the lesson was "legal" because of President Donald Trump's executive order declaring the federal government would only recognize two sexes, male and female.

After Harrison posted the video, which went viral, the Texas A&M professor in the video was fired, and university President Mark A. Welsh III resigned under pressure from Texas Republican leaders. Texas A&M University, as well as several other Texas colleges, cracked down on how gender, sexuality and race can be taught in classrooms. The video has had even more downstream effects: Universities instituted course audits and cut some core curriculum, and Texas A&M eventually disbanded its women and gender studies program. The University of Texas cut several majors, including gender studies, last week.
The liberal media is melting down!! 🤣

I'll keep fighting... and WINNING... for Texas!

From #FoxNews: "Texas State Representative Brian Harrison told Fox News Digital he's very concerned about the prospect of a European country controlling how criminals are sentenced in his state.

"You're almost opening Pandora's box in sort of a roundabout way, allowing ... some of those European socialist soft on crime liberal politicians to be able to wield influence over what happens in Texas courts," Harrison said. "I do not want foreign governments, foreign officials, foreign courts having anything to do with how we enforce criminal laws here in the state of Texas."

"What's to stop them from moving the goalposts even further?"

He also said this could create a horrible precedent for future suspects who may want to find creative ways to reduce their potential sentence.

"If you can somehow, once you're out on bond, just touch foot on foreign soil and then turn the extradition hearings into basically a way to whittle down potential punishments ... the implications are profound and very concerning to me," Harrison said.

Foreign governments should have nothing to do with how we enforce laws in Texas!

Discussed how the Lee Gilley case may open Pandora’s Box on #FoxNews.

Texas and LIBERTY are worth fighting for!

Great night in Kerrville speaking to a packed room of patriots at the Spirit of Liberty event!

If we’re going to SAVE TEXAS, it is going to come from the BOTTOM UP… not the top down.

Texans are having their eyes opened like never before… and it’s making a difference!

🚨 "SHAME ON YOU!!" "TRANSGENDER HISTORY EXISTS!!"... UNT Senior Lecturer and Director of Undergraduate Programs LASHES OUT!!

Sends me UNHINGED EMAIL after I shut down #UNTsocial's taxpayer-funded TRANSGENDER LIBRARY WEBSITE! (Full email in photos.)

Excerpts from her (completely insane) UNT bio:

"... teaching and research interests explore the multiple ways that intersecting hierarchies of sexuality, gender, race, and class shape both the structural conditions and lived experiences of citizenship and belonging in the United States... For example, ---'s doctoral research with binational same sex couples sought to untangle the increasingly complex relationship amongst social justice oriented non-governmental organizations (NGOs), their constituents, and U.S. law and policy in neoliberal times. ---'s most recent project is focused on collecting, archiving, and making public the histories of LGBTQ Latinx and Hispanic persons living in Texas... She is co-author of a chapter called "Centering Intersectional Politics: Queer Migrations Activism 'After Marriage'" that was published in a ground-breaking series of edited volumes focused on future directions for queer activism in the United States.

She teaches the following courses (at taxpayer expense):

ANTH 4300 Migrants and Refugees
ANTH 4550 Race, Ethnicity, and Identity
ANTH 4701 Sex, Gender, and Culture
WGST 4260 Introduction to LGBTQ Studies

How many radical leftists is UNT forcing taxpayers to fund... and why is UNT still using tax dollars for TRANSGENDER INDOCTRINATION??

Indefensible that every bill I filed last session to end taxpayer funded leftist indoctrination was thwarted by the Austin uniparty establishment and our "Republican" Speaker, who literally was elected by James Talarico!!

Public universities are for education... not leftist indoctrination!!!!

THIS MUST END... NOW!!
PROPERTY TAXES ARE SKYROCKETING all over Texas right now (exactly as I predicted last session).

Local elected officials are blaming the state government... and the state government is blaming the locals.

Spoiler alert: they're BOTH correct!!

Here's why:

1) Local elected officials are are absolutely responsible when they vote to raise property taxes by adopting a tax rate higher than last year's effective tax rate (also called the "no-new-revenue" rate), and...

2) The Texas government is absolutely (and ultimately) responsible because it authorized the local governments to enact these outrageous property tax hikes.

I hope this helps.
Fixed it for ya, #TexasTribune.
From #wfaa: "The University of North Texas (UNT) has taken down its LGBTQ+ archive page after a Republican state lawmaker posted a scathing review of it on social media.

Texas Rep. Brian Harrison (R-Midlothian) posted on X about the page on Sept. 18, accusing them of "promoting transgenderism." By the next morning, the website had been removed. Harrison posted an update on Sept. 19, celebrating the removal.

The link included in Harrison's first post gives the following error message:

"The page you are looking for doesn't appear to exist (Error 404). Check the URL for spelling errors."
