During the early 20th century, researchers experimented with seawater as a blood-plasma substitute based on the observation that its electrolyte composition resembles that of extracellular fluid. (47 seconds)

Here's where it gets really interesting. When you remove the excess sodium chloride, the resulting mineral profile resembles the exact composition of human body fluids (Sodium, Potassium, Magnesium, Calcium, and other Trace Minerals).

Baja Gold Mineral Sea Salt is often considered the world’s healthiest, most flavorful sea salt and source of electrolytes. Naturally harvested from the Sea of Cortez, Baja Gold features a comprehensive mineral and trace element profile for enhanced taste and improved vitality (~70 trace minerals).

This sea salt was selected as the world's best sea salt by Dr. Maynard Murray, author of Sea Energy Agriculture, primarily because Dr. Murray found this salt had the lowest sodium and best ratio of trace minerals of any salt he tested.
