There's literally no use if you'd have unencrypted backups and decryption in defence of surveillance and censorship.

Imagine this: Someone has to approve every single word that comes out of your mouth and censor what they don't like, and pass what they do. That someone can be an algorithm/person or a whitelist.

If Facebook complied to this rule then they'd have to push an update to WhatsApp and every single person, 1.6B people are under surveillance. If not already, because (Facebook 🤦)

This is straight up stupid when you use Google Drive Backups. Because I assure you the average Facebook (whatscrap) user in their group has 3rd party backups turned on.

And one can easily revive messages after 24 hours, if you know how to..

As always Telegram's encrypted cloud approach is much appreciated especially when after 24hours you'd lose important files *coughs* 16mb videos 😂

Why use Whatscrap after Facebook messed it up?

I'm sure this is being done to prevent excessive load on servers during syncing and to speed up bandwidth when multi device syncing comes.
