Sue Grey appeared in front of a Judge this afternoon, where no further action would be taken, but a full transcript would be sent to the Law Society for review.
This all transpired following an earlier appearance where she was supporting a Golden Bay Cafe owner with his case.
She has clarified to CSM that she was not appearing as a Mckenzie friend.
She wanted to make the court aware of an earlier judgment Fahey v. Queen, NZCA 596 [2017].
This ruling was about options for defendants who don't know how to deal with defending themselves. There are several options, including amicus curiae or "standby counsel".
MSM conveniently left this part out, instead stating Sue's manner was inciting supporters, and quoted the judge as saying at the point she was put into custody there was “virtually a riot”.
So, was there a riot, or not?

Thank you everyone for your much appreciated support yesterday and over the last couple of full on weeks.
It's certainly an interesting journey, and a time of incredible opportunity to question, educate and grow.
I'm looking forward to receiving the transcript from the court yesterday so I can review my recollection against the court record.
My objective, as always, was to assist the court to facilitate justice.
I was not asking to be a "McKenzie friend" for the defendant, as that did not address the issues that the court itself had previously recognised, and it would have removed my opportunity to speak.
I was sent to the cells when I was trying to give the court the 2017 Fahey v Queen decision of the Court of Appeal [ 2017] NZCA 596 which identifies and analyses other possible solutions, which could have assisted both the defendant and the court.
Does anyone have any video or other record of what was described as "a virtual riot,"? My recollection was that those in the public gallery were as stunned as I was when I was sent to the cells. I didn't see what happened after that in the courtroom. It would be great if those who were there could please share their recollections.
I hugely appreciate your support for promoting justice and helping to create a better fairer future for our people.
We have and will continue to overcome challenges to create a wonderful community which we can all be proud of.

Update from Liz today re. Baby Will.
Baby Will up to the intensive care in the ward in two hours. Pacing wires were just taken out of his heart. No bleeding. Pray for him.
Mail-many letters and drawings - given today as Sam waits. Deeply touching, especially the kid's drawings!
Baby Will's mother, Sam was in delight.
Baby Will is going up to the lesser level of intensive care in the Heart Ward of Starship Hospital around 4pm today NZ time. Not fully but almost in the clear to be back with Mumma Sam in her room. 😇
