THE PALESTINIAN MYTHOLOGY
The definition of mythology is according to Merriam-Webster is: "a popular belief or assumption that has grown up around someone or something". The mythology is that the 1948 war that ended up with population changes is different than other events that took place at that time.

The best example is the partition of India. between half a million to a million people were murdered in a period of few months in 1947 (and they were brutal murders) as a result of it, and between 12 to 15 million people had to leave their homes. This was not the only event that took place after WW-II.

Before this event, from 1894 to 1924, between 1.5 and 2.5 million Christians (Assyrians, Armenians and Greek) were murdered by the Ottoman empire (Muslims). We are talking about a period of mass murder, deadly expulsions, mass rape, abductions and coerced religious conversions.

To try to ignore that fact and the population exchanges and even worse mass massacres took place in the era before 1948 is again because it is part of the Palestinian mythology. The ONLY thing different is the fact Jews were involved, and Jews have a special place in the collective Western world narrative due to antisemitism and in the Muslim world due to specific quotes in the Quran, and the influences of antisemitic literature that was and sometimes is being taught in the Muslim world.

Around one million Jews were forced out of their homes in the Arab countries and fled to Israel as a result of the Arab countries hostility to them after 1948. No one got compensation from any Arab country, while Israel has offered to pay for the Palestinians who fled the country and became refugees but they refused. Israel even offered in 1949 to accept back 100,000 Arabs in condition of ending the war state with the neighbouring Arab countries who refused.

Finally - when people in the west who don't speak Arabic shout "from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free", they ignore the original call, which is من المية للمية فلسطين عربية, which translates to "from the water to the water, Palestine is Arab". That what's that flag represents, a total annihilation of Israel. This is the mythology they support.

The last episode of #Blackadder (Season 4 Episode 6) was called "Goodbyeee". It was about the insanity of war, and it is and was one of the best moments in TV history. I've been thinking about it ever since the 7th of October 2023. Here it is:

NON-INVOLVED CIVILIANS?
To those who think the problem is only Hamas: a large part of the acts of rape, slaughter and kidnapping were actually done by what the media calls "citizens not involved in Gaza". See for example here, the woman is kidnapped by a "not involved" civilian who reached the third wave of infiltration. Those "not involved" shot and stabbed bodies again to make sure they were dead and committed much of the rape and murder.
