*I am a manager at a grocery store in an ultra conservative/anti-abortion state, and today I didn't see a damned thing.*

The store I work at is in a very rough neighborhood. A lot of low income housing, high homeless population, barred windows... You get the picture. People here don't have money, and most of the time they don't have options. Today I was walking through the store, and I turned down one of our less-frequented aisles just in time to see a young girl, late teens or early twenties at most, tear open a box of Plan B. I'm a tall, intimidating looking man, and the fear on her face was obvious. She just froze. We made eye contact from about 15 feet away. Without saying a word, I gave her the friendliest smile I could muster and turned around and walked away. I circled back about 10 minutes later and found the empty box on the shelf. Scanned it out as theft and tossed the empty box away. I absolutely hate that women are put in this position every day. It's infuriating. But I decided a long time ago that my state's laws are fucking awful. And if I see someone stealing contraceptives or plan B, then I didn't see a damned thing. To be clear, I'm not promoting theft. I'm promoting women doing what they need to do to be safe. Hopefully we can start voting for change in the next few election cycles.
