*Funerals are a disgusting practice. I do not wish to either attend any, nor have one myself.*

Funerals are so selfish to a degree where I refuse to partake in any form of them. Doesn’t matter who it’s for or what the situation it is. “They’re for the family”: what if you’re the one with the massive loss, say a parent or a significant other? Who is it for then? If it’s not for the person who’s closest then it’s for the selfish grievers not close to that person who believe they need some sort of closure they’ll never find. If they “need me there” then that’s their problem. “They’re for the respect of the dead”: my respect of someone does not change for someone whether I attend or not. If I truly had respect for someone, then that would go beyond attending an archaic ritual for 4 hours. “They’re to help get over grief”: dude I just want to be alone when someone I know or am close to dies. The worst thing in my opinion is to get other who have minimum contact with that person involved. When I die, I want no such service. No memorials, no obituaries, no events no nothing. I want a cheap casket, a cheap tombstone, and just the officials to bury me with no fanfare, no events no nothing. I hope to find a way to make that happen legally. Edit: I am not interested in any form of events or celebrations after death. No parties, no memorials, no nothing. I prefer burial. No donation of body. No cremation. Burial. I would prefer if everyone literally forgot I existed the next day and moved on with their lives. If they are upset with my requests, then that’s their own selfish problem. Not mine. And yes, I am perfectly mentally healthy and ok. I appreciate your concern, but sincerely, if you’re worried about some random dude’s mental health on the internet, get your priorities in check I also recognize that yes, I am selfish for my own wishes. But so are they. They feel entitled for believing people should attend specific events for their own emotions, not considering that some people may find those traditions to be either inappropriate or, dare I say it, disgusting. That’s their problem. Also, for all of those who are calling me names and saying I’m an “edgy teen”, congrats, you allowed yourself to get upset at an internet post. It’s honestly laughable to see how upset people are getting at a college aged guy posting an opinion. Oh, and one more thing.
